Need second opinion

What I have is a 1.4 T-bird I am trying to over clock it I can run it at 150 fsb with no problems but if I raise it to 155 windows crashes I thought it was my ram but I found out its not

I can run it at 160 fsb only if I lower the multiplier to 10x I believe I have hit my max at 1600 mhz is there some thing I may have missed that would let me over clock it higher

I tried 11x but it wont boot at 11x I have set the cpu voltage to 1.85

It probably is a limitation of the CPU. However, better cooling always helps.

Don't rely on motherboard temps, they are WRONG. Get an LCD thermal probe for better accuracy. Anyway you may just have hit the limit of your system. To me I would lower the multiplier to 10 and run at 160FSB. To me that gets more bang for the buck! Besides an extra 200 mhz out of your CPU is a very good overclock, plus if your doing that with FSB, you have a very peppy system!

1600MHz is a good overclock for a 1.4GHz t-bird. If it is accurate 42c at full load is a good temp. 10 x 160 will give you awesome memory performance. But then, you could try 9.5 x 168...

ok thanks folks and yes the memory scores are very high 937/931 by sisandra beats the hell out of my other computers

1.6 Ghz is a good O/C. The general limit for a 1.4 Ghz is around 1.5-1.55 Ghz.
