Need Video card buying advise.

I will be buying a video card soon and need your opinion on the following options. I currently am running a TNT with 196mb ram and a will have a PIII 700.
(total prices including any shipping or tax)


Voodoo3 3500 for $100 (used...but from a creditable person who backs up purchases)

ATi Rage Fury Maxx for $114.43 from www.gogocity.com

Creative Labs TNT2 for $74 from www.computers4sure.com

If you are going to spend $115.00 for older card that does not and never will have Windows 2000 support, why don't you get a Geforce DDR card. I have seen them for sell in the forums at that price before.

Heck I would throw in the additional $35.00 more and get a Radeon or Geforce2 card.

It will give you better gaming for a longer period of time than your other choices.

Some of the newer games don't run well on the TNT2, Voodoo 3500, or the Fury Maxx.

If you want to stay at $100, I would definately suggest an Nvidia GeForce2 MX. Solid card, cheap price.

If you can spend a little more though, get the 32MB DDR Radeon at Buy.com for only $132 after a $30 coupon and free shipping. It's a lot more card and an incredible value while that deal is still going on. You will be shocked at what $132 will get you with that 32MB Radeon.

I purchased the Elsa X2 (Geforce1 DDR) with TV out for $118 shipped. Use Onvia for $135 pricematch w Staples, then apply a $25 off coupon while talking to the rep.

I was going to get a MX, but for the same price, might as well get some extra high res horsepower. Plus, Staples is an easy return after Xmas vs. mail order houses.

If you really want power at a reasonable price, Leadtek GTS Geforce2 32meg w/TV out is around $170 right now (see pricewatch.com)
