So Intel did netburst. Didnt work out.
If I have understood this move correctly it is because Intel envisioned chips going at 10GHz+ speeds.
So I am just wondering, what kind of physics caught up with Intel that couldnt be mitigated?
Intel obviously had a vision at some point, so what didnt pan out, what research failed to deliver? And following that, is it crazy to persue a return to the GHz race? Are we wiser now than then?
My question is obviously targeted our tech and history inclined members .
