I have a Panasonic TC-P42U2 that I purchased a while back after my secondary computer monitor died. It's used both as a second monitor (when needed), and for the occasional DVD or Blu-ray played from my computer. Seeing this thing hanging on the wall, unused most of the time is kind of sad. I'm looking to kill two birds with one stone - make better use of my $600 purchase, and get some (fairly) cheap entertainment to pass the time when there's nothing better to do.
Hulu and Crackle have been decent resources for free streaming movies (watched Underworld: Evolution last night out of boredom), but their libraries are primarily no-name movies or older titles - almost no big-name titles at all.
Netflix, on the other hand, has more big-name titles available for streaming than those two free alternatives, through the library still looks fairly disappointing (for example, LotR: Fellowship is available for streaming, but the other two in the trilogy aren't). So, for those of you with a Netflix subscription, how do you like it? Do you find yourself engorged in tons of streaming movies you've been dying to watch, or fairly bored after having it for a month or two? I'm not really interested in their physical DVDs / Blu-rays, as we generally watch movies on a whim and it would suck to have to wait a few days to get a new one in.
On the other hand, I understand that a Netflix subscription gives you a single-login access to the service, meaning that only one device can be playing a movie from the account at a time. That's perfectly fine with me. However, are there any catches, such as the need to download a Netflix client (versus just going to the website and steaming from there), or any limitations where / when devices can play their streaming movies? Essentially, will I be able to watch a movie from my home desktop, then watch something else from my laptop in an entirely different location later (different IP address), as long as there's only one movie playing at any given time?
Thanks.
