Well, i have 3 comps.

2 comps connect to a router that connects to a cable modem.

1 comp connects to another comp which connects to a router which connects to a cable modem.

for ex.

comp1 connects to the router

comp2 connects to the router

comp3 connects to comp1 which connects to the router.

Internet connections work fine on all three.

comp1 and comp2 can share things fine with each other.

The problem is that comp3 can only share files with comp1 and not comp2.
and comp2 can only share files with comp1 one and not comp3.

any ideas?

Connect all 3 to the router. If your router only has two lan ports then buy a hub.

In order to use computer 3 behind computer 1 you probably use ICS.

So you have double NAT, two Networks and two subnets.

So in order to share you need to Bridge, but if you Bridge ICS will not work.

However Gas is very expensive these days, so if you find for me a solution that let my car use Water, I will find a solution to your problem. After all you can pour water into the Gas tank so why it should not work.

Well then you might have pointed that out in the original post.

But what if he creates a virtual NIC for comp1 & 2? Is that possible in Win? Maybe using two IPs could get the job done?
That would be like 2 cables between comp1 & 2 which he could use ICS on one and bridge the other?
If that isn't possible you could buy two extra NIC's; one for comp1 and one for comp3 and use them as described above. (you wouldn't have to use another cable, you could spilt the one your using)

Hmm, but maybe I'm over complicating. In the current situation comp3 connects to comp1, which connects to the router, and then there's the internet(s) What if the NICs in comp1 would be bridged, and comp3 would connect directly to the router? Only one subnet so it should all work fine, and comp3 could get internet access. But maybe comp1 then couldn't use the same NIC to connect to the router if it's being bridged for comp3?

If none of the above work, you could possibly get somekind of an advanced router program for comp1?

ps. sorry for my english Just ask if I'm not explaining something enough
