Well i just formatted my hard drive and now my network isnt working.
I have 3 computers, 2 desktops and a laptop connected together using a linksys wrt54g (laptop on wireless) and thats also connected to a nokia m1122 for internet but that has died.
Basically my problem is that one of my desktops can see everything one the network and conenct to it but nothing can see it or connect to it, im not so bothered about the file sharing but i have to use a internal ADSL modem at the moment and as nothing can see this computer my other computers cant access the internet.

Any help fixing this would be appreciated. Thanks.

EDIT: All systems are running XP

If you use Internal Modem you have to connect all computers to the regular ports of the Router (leave the WAN port open) and use ICS, or if it is WinXP Pro Bridge the whole thing.

I agree. If someone has a link to these steps I think it might help him.

Are you trying the shares based on Network Neighborhood? Try using the server name and resourse in the run. //servername/resourcename

I just found out my XP system was setup to connect to a business vs home networking. Now I can manage my workgroups.

Bridging is done around a Computer that is running WinXP Pro and has two Network Connections.

It can be an Internal Modem and a regular Network Card (NIC), or Wireless Client card, or any similar combination,

In this case, the source is an Internal ADSL Modem Network connection, the bridge should be done through a Network card that is installed in the same computer, and it is connected to the Wireless Router.

In other cases, one card should be connected to it is the Internet source, and the second NIC is connecting to a second Network/computer that needs to join the Bridge.

I can not find a page that describe the exact setting as yours so you need the extrapolate from this, http://www.homenethelp.com/web/howto/windows-xp-bridge-setup.asp

Since the Internet is served to few computers, you need a Routing capacity. In the case above it can be achieved by using Windows Native ICS.

The problem isnt bridging the conenctions, which i cant do anyway because the ADSL comes up as a dial up connection.
I was trying to connect to the computer using its IP (they are al static IPs) I think i may just try reformatting this computer, lol. I also think i will just buy a cisco router lol.
But if anyone has any other ideas i would like to hear them

The internal ADSL is a dial-up connection. The device is now going to be binded to an IP Address that gets assigned from your provider. This would the gateway. If you want to continue what you already have setup. Use this computers none routible IP Address (from the NIC) as the gateway on the other computers.

Example:
Computer One (main)
ADSL Adapter = 28.16.128.56 (assigned by provider).
NIC = 192.168.0.1 (static non-routable IP Address), 255.255.255.0 (subnet)

Computer Two
NIC = 192.168.0.2 (static non-routable IP Address), 255.255.255.0 (subnet), Gateway 192.168.0.1

*Guys if I'm wrong please explain it better to him.

Make sure you have a firewall enable on the ADSL connection. Load up on Spyware and antivirus protection.

As long as your using the internal modem I don't think you need to buy a router. Your computer has to be on for the internet connection so use it as the router. When your ready to replace the internal modem with an external then I would recommend getting a router so you don't have to depend on the PC as the router/gateway.

I had a couple small nextworks running like this for some time. It's been awhile so it might be a little fuzzy for me.

that is fine, but unless you have ICS enabled, the computer will not act as a gateway, and NAT the other machines to it's public IP
Being multihomed by itself is not enough.
