HMX has released a pre-announcement of some summer DLC. The Soundgarden bit is particularly interesting since the RB1/RB2 Soundgarden tracks wouldn't import into RB3. Maybe we'll see the return of Black Hole Sun and Spoonman.

Rock Band DLC Coming This Summer!

Hey Rock Band fans! Though we’re making a lot of noise this week with the announcement of Dance Central 2 at E3, we haven’t forgotten about you. As promised, we have tons of great new music coming to Rock Band over the next couple months. If dancin’ isn’t your thing, no need to worry: we’ve still got you covered.

Coming soon

AVENGED SEVENFOLD! You guys asked for it, and we have more Avenged Sevenfold coming to Rock Band – one song from their latest album Nightmare, and one classic fan-favorite A7X track.

Poison! You demanded more hair metal, and here it is! Get out your hairspray and eye liner because we have a most excellent three-pack of hits on the way from the ‘80s band.

System of a Down! Two of the most often requested tracks from the metal band will finally be coming to the Rock Band Music Store, and one of those two songs will feature their first Pro Guitar/Bass upgrade available for RB3!

Soundgarden returns to Rock Band! An unstoppable six-pack of classic songs from the seminal grunge band will be coming your way, with most featuring Pro Guitar upgrades.

And that’s just a sample of some of the music that will be available this summer! There are even more tracks from some of your favorite bands on their way, so stay tuned here on RockBand.com, follow @RockBand on Twitter, or become a fan on Facebook to make sure you’re up to date with all the latest DLC news!

A portion of next week's DLC has been announced early, it's a Maroon 5 3-pack including Misery, This Love and Won't Go Home Without You. When I saw Maroon 5 I was really hoping for "She Will Be Loved" but sadly it's not there. That's not all, according to Rock Band twitter there's still another pack to be unveiled at the usual time tomorrow morning.

Next up, Poison and 3 Doors Down! I'm definitely buying the whole Poison pack, on the fence about 3DD right now. I already have Kryptonite and Not My Time and I like them better than the songs in this pack.

DLC Week of 6/28 - Poison 3 Pack & 3 Doors Down 3 Pack!

Hey gang!

Next week we'll be adding two 3 packs to the RB library, including the long overdue addition of Poison, which should hopefully flesh out the hair band options a bit for the longtime faithful on the forums.

Poison will make their Rock Band debut next week with a three pack of hits – “Nothin’ but a Good Time” from 1988’s Open Up and Say … Ahh!, “Unskinny Bop” from 1990’s Flesh & Blood and “Talk Dirty To Me” from their debut album, Look What the Cat Dragged In.

Rockers 3 Doors Down are adding to their Rock Band catalog with a three pack of songs next week that will include “Here Without You”, “When I’m Gone” and “When You’re Young”, the first single from their new album Time of My Life, which will be released July 19, 2011.

Each band will also have one Pro Guitar upgrade available. Enjoy!

Available on Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation®3 system (June 28):

• 3 Doors Down – “Here Without You”
• 3 Doors Down – “When I’m Gone” X
• 3 Doors Down – “When You’re Young”
• Poison – “Nothin’ but a Good Time” X
• Poison – “Talk Dirty To Me”
• Poison – “Unskinny Bop”

(These tracks will be available in Europe on PlayStation®3 system June 29)

Some cool singles up next week along with the previously-promised System of a Down tracks. I will at least grab REM and Buffalo Springfield.

DLC Week of 7/5 - System of a Down, R.E.M., Buffalo Springfield & The Vapors!

Hey gang,

Next week's DLC includes five incredibly varied singles, including 3 Pro upgrades! Two stand out singles from fan favorites System of a Down– “Aerials” and “Hypnotize” - make their way to the store. A classic cut, “For What It’s Worth”, from Buffalo Springfield, rounds out the offerings for July 5th!

As always, songs available as downloadable content for Rock Band 3 feature five-button guitar and bass parts, drums, Pro Drums, and keys, Pro Keys and harmonies, where applicable. Some songs also feature Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrades available for an additional $0.99 upgrade download.

Available on Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation®3 system (July 5):

Harmonix has taken the wraps off the previously announced Soundgarden pack, it will be coming on 7/19 with these songs:

Blow Up the Outside World
Burden in My Hand
Fell on Black Days
Outshined
Rusty Cage
The Day I Tried to Live

There will be some pro guitar upgrades available, but no word on which songs yet.

In addition, there are now rumors about upcoming DLC from Heart and Frankie Goes to Hollywood based on URL-testing techniques that have yielded good DLC predictions in the past.

This pack was previously announced, but here's the official HMX announcement along with the pro guitar info - they are bringing out a pro guitar track for one old piece of Soundgarden DLC, Pretty Noose. Also interesting is the info that they are working on getting Black Hole Sun and Spoonman back.

DLC Week of 7/19 - Soundgarden 6 Pack w/ 4 Pro Guitar Upgrades!

Hey gang,

This Tuesday, the seminal grunge masters make their way back to the Rock Band platform with a celebratory 6-pack of hits from across the band’s legendary career. “Outshined” and “Rusty Cage” kick off the pack, both hailing from the band’s 1991 record Badmotorfinger. From Superunknown, the band’s influential 1994 classic, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, Rock Band fans will be able to rock out to “Fell on Black Days” and “The Day I Tried to Live”. Rounding out the pack are two standout tracks from the band’s 1996 record Down on the Upside, “Blow Up the Outside World” and “Burden in My Hand”.

Also, regarding "Black Hole Sun" and "Spoonman", we are definitely aware of the fact that folks would like to see those tracks return and we're working on it. Unfortunately licensing is a bit trickier because those songs have already been released on disc.

The band is currently on tour and recording a new album. For details and dates, head to www.soundgardenworld.com

Additionally, a Pro Guitar upgrade for the previously released Soundgarden single “Pretty Noose” also arrives to the Rock Band store this week!

We've already given away a TON of codes for this pack to lucky folks who have been able to play these tracks before they were even available in the store, and if you keep posted we'll have more info on giveaways early next week. So stay tuned!

Available on Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation®3 system (July 19th, 2011):

• Soundgarden – “Blow Up the Outside World”
• Soundgarden – “Burden in My Hand” X
• Soundgarden – “Fell on Black Days”
• Soundgarden – “Outshined” X
• Soundgarden – “Rusty Cage”
• Soundgarden – “The Day I Tried to Live” X

Pro Guitar Additions for Legacy Songs:

• Soundgarden – “Pretty Noose”

(These tracks will be available in Europe on PlayStation®3 system July 20th)

These tracks will be available for purchase as “Celebrating Soundgarden On Tour 2011” pack and as individual tracks on Xbox 360, PlayStation®3 system and Wii. Tracks marked with “X” will include Pro Guitar and Pro Bass expansions for $0.99 per song.

Price:

$9.99, £4.99 UK, €7.99 EU (800 Microsoft Points, 1000 Wii Points™) for “Celebrating Soundgarden On Tour 2011” pack
$1.99 USD, £.99 UK, €1.49 EU (160 Microsoft Points) per song
$2.00 USD (200 Wii Points) per song
$0.99 USD (100 Wii Points/80 Microsoft Points), £0.59 UK, €0.79 EU per song for eligible Pro Guitar/Pro Bass upgrade

A few tidbits to report today - first, there is early news of a Incubus 3-pack coming in August. It will include the songs Adolescents, Pardon Me and Wish You Were Here. Now if only that last one was a Pink Floyd track.

Second, there's an interesting little "3-pack" of classical piano tracks being released on RBN (as singles only, RBN doesn't actually have packs). These very well-known tracks include Fur Elise and Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven as well as Ronda Alla Turca by Mozart. Rock Band as a classical piano training tool (albeit in 2 octaves) - that's pretty cool, and they only cost $1.

A sampling of singles next week - I'll definitely get Heart, and maybe No Sleep till Brooklyn.

DLC Week of 8/2 - Singles from Beastie Boys, Heart, James Brown & Rufus!

Hey gang,

This week, the Rock Band DLC release features funk, Hip Hop, and Classic Rock with 4 amazing artists. Beastie Boys kick things off with the lead single off of their 2011 release Hot Sauce Committee Part Two, “Make Some Noise” and one of their breakout rock party anthems – “No Sleep till Brooklyn”.

From the world of funk, Rock Band fans get a one-two punch! Rufus (ft Chaka Khan) delivers the grooves with “Tell Me Something Good”. The Godfather of Soul himself, James Brown, picks up the tempo with the inimitable “Super Bad, Pts. 1 & 2”.

Lastly, Heart’s “Barracuda” arrives in the Rock Band Music Store. A frequent request on RockBand.com, this tune features an optional Pro Guitar upgrade, letting you learn the galloping riff to the 1977 classic.

Picked up Barracuda. Good song, little challenging. Playing medium, I got 99% on my first play-through, and #616 on the global chart, though I'm sure that will drop =P

Out of all the songs from License to Ill, and they picked No Sleep till Brooklyn over their most well-known song (You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (to Party!). I can't believe it.

Edit: More Heart please, Harmonix!

Yeah, I don't get why they keep releasing Beastie Boys tracks without Fight For Your Right. Maybe some licensing nonsense, who knows.

Holy crap, HMX is making me think it's my birthday or something. It seems that Primary Wave has accidentally let the cat out of the bag early. We're getting a 6-pack of Def Leppard and EVERY song has a pro upgrade! This is one of my favorite bands and I'm absolutely ecstatic about this. Regarding the live tracks, it seems very likely that the masters for Hysteria are unusable for some reason. No music game has ever had a studio version of anything from Hysteria. The versions included are from Mirrorball and that is what is linked in the OP and here.

Animal (Live) [PRO]
Bringin' on the Heartbreak [PRO]
Photograph [PRO]
Pour Some Sugar On Me (Live) [PRO]
Rock of Ages [PRO]
Undefeated [PRO]

I don't know why Harmonix hasn't fixed this problem yet, but it looks like more upcoming DLC has been discovered by trying URLs on their website. This is all unofficial, but based on what has been found there are upcoming tracks from Red Hot Chili Peppers, Fall Out Boy, Pearl Jam and EMF. More details are available at RockBandAide.

Sorry for the late post this week, I was camping. Anyway, up next week we've got a 3-pack from Fall Out Boy with a couple of modern hits, and an epic-length track from Deep Purple (10:18!). I like two of the FOB tracks, so I'll at least get those. Child in Time is pretty good, but I'm not sure how many times I really want to play a 10-minute track in Rock Band.

DLC Week of 8/16 - Fall Out Boy 3 Pack and Deep Purple!

Hey gang,

Fall Out Boy make their triumphant return to Rock Band this week, dropping an amazing 3-pack of some of their biggest hits. The pack leads off with 2 tracks from Fall Out Boy’s 2005 major label debut, From Under the Cork Tree, “Sugar, We’re Going Down” and “Dance, Dance”. The pack is rounded out by “Thnks fr th Mmrs” the smash hit from the band’s platinum follow-up, Infinity on High.

Joining this Fall Out Boy 3-pack is an amazing single from Deep Purple, Child in Time. The hard rock pioneers are best known to Rock Band fans as the band behind “Highway Star”, the standout Rock Band track that also underscored the first Rock Band disc’s cinematic. Child in Time is an unbelievable riff driven anthem, from the 1970 Deep Purple release Deep Purple in Rock, and clocks in at an impressive 10 minutes and 18 seconds.

Available on Xbox 360, Wii andPlayStation®3 system (August 16th, 2011):

• Fall Out Boy – “Dance, Dance”
• Fall Out Boy – “Sugar, We’re Goin’ Down” X
• Fall Out Boy – “Thnks fr th Mmrs”
• Deep Purple – “Child in Time”

(These tracks will be available in Europe on PlayStation®3 system August 17th)
The 3 available Fall Out Boy tracks will be available as “Fall Out Boy Pack 01”, and all tracks will be available for purchase as individually on Xbox 360, PlayStation®3 system and Wii. Tracks marked with “X” will include Pro Guitar and Pro Bass expansions for $0.99 per song.

For some reason Harmonix has dropped an early announcement for DLC that is two weeks out (8/30). Get ready for a spicy 8-pack of Red Hot Chili Peppers. Sadly, there's no word on the embargoed export tracks from RB1/RB2 (Dani California, Give It Away).

DLC Week of 8/30 - Red Hot Chili Peppers 8 Pack!

A few tidbits to report today - first, there is early news of a Incubus 3-pack coming in August. It will include the songs Adolescents, Pardon Me and Wish You Were Here. Now if only that last one was a Pink Floyd track.

This Incubus pack is arriving next week. Three songs is a little light, but there is a big RHCP pack the week after.

DLC Week of 8/23 - Incubus Three-Pack!

This week’s DLC offering for the Rock Band catalog comes to us from the often requested Incubus!
