We'll know soon enough with the announcement tomorrow morning, but there are reports that a 3-pack from Disturbed is coming next week, including the songs "Meaning of Life," "The Game" and "Voices".

You're welcome. I appreciate the feedback - it's hard to tell if anybody reads this, except for the occasional post bitching about the song choices.

my ears are burning.

i tend to read this every week or two. it's appreciated, but, you know, i could just be less lazy and use rbdlc.com.

HIM and disturbed sounds good to me. not my favorite bands, but the latter is fun to play, as should be the former.

Another set of stuff that I'm not really familiar with this week; I'll have to give them a listen.

In unrelated news, there's been speculation that Pantera (revealed in the Gamescom announcement) will finally be released on March 30th in conjunction with their new greatest hits compilation "A Decade of Domination". While this is just speculation, it would be a logical time for the pack to be released for cross-promotion purposes.

EDIT: I've also removed the descriptive blurb from the beginning of the OP so that the hovertext feature can be more easily used to preview the new info in the thread from the main console gaming index.

Lookit, I'm doing the DLC Announcement this week! Power wrested from the greasy clutches of HMXHenry! Enjoy these tasty tracks on this delicious Friday. Or don't. It's completely up to you.

Disturbed – “Meaning of Life”
Disturbed – “The Game”
Disturbed – “Voices”
The Mother Hips – “Third Floor Story”
The Mother Hips – “White Falcon Fuzz” + *
Silversun Pickups – “Panic Switch”
Silversun Pickups – “Sort Of” +
TRUSTcompany – “Downfall” +

(All tracks are original master recordings)

These tracks will be available for purchase as “Disturbed Pack 02” as well as individual tracks on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 system, and as individual tracks only on Wii. Tracks marked with “+” are also available for download in the family-friendly LEGO® Rock Band Music Store. Tracks marked with a “*” will come out in Europe only on March 11.

Price:
$1.99 USD, £.99 UK, €1.49 EU (160 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) per track

$5.49, £2.49 UK, €3.99 EU (440 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) for “Disturbed Pack 02”

I'm pretty sure it's the same, but I think it may come out a couple days later.

hell, after reading how the ps3 guitars are a bit "retrofitted" w/ usb receiver dongles and quite a bit of issues w/ songs on the ps3 site, may as well pick up a jasper for $170shipped....

It's the same DLC, but if you've already purchased DLC on your Live account, it will NOT carry over to the PS3 - you would have to rebuy everything. Also, the release of Rock Band Network on the 360 is imminent (should be March), so that's another source of DLC for the 360 (the PS3 is supposed to get some subset of these songs ported over, not sure how that will work yet).

Alright, I'm a little late this week but I've brought back the YouTube link love. It's a pretty random variety this week. I'd absolutely love more Rush, but "The Hockey Theme" by Neil Peart wasn't quite what I had in mind.

Don't forget, on the 360 this is a massive DLC week since you get over 100 more songs on Rock Band Network! I probably won't be able to cover all the RBN songs, but I'll try to mention the major stuff. Speaking of which, remember the reports of a Third Eye Blind pack from a while back? The RBN testers are reporting that the 3EB songs are now being auditioned in RBN, so hopefully they're not far away from release.

Hey gang,

Here's your DLC for the week of 3/9/2010! There's an all-star three pack from The White Stripes, the return of Shaimus to rhythm gaming, some Canadian hockey love and more! Enjoy!

Available on Xbox 360 and Wii (March 9) and PlayStation 3 system (March 11):

The Futureheads – “Decent Days & Nights” +
The Futureheads – “Hounds of Love” +
The James Gang – “Walk Away” +
Neil Peart – “The Hockey Theme” + *
Shaimus – “All of This” + *
Shaimus – “Tie You Down” + *
The White Stripes – “Fell in Love with a Girl” +
The White Stripes – “Seven Nation Army”
The White Stripes – “You Don’t Know What Love Is (You Just Do As You’re Told)” +

(All tracks are original master recordings)

These tracks will be available for purchase as “The White Stripes Pack 02” as well as individual tracks on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 system, and as individual tracks only on Wii. Tracks marked with “+” are also available for download in the family-friendly LEGO® Rock Band Music Store.

Price:

$1.99 USD, £.99 UK, €1.49 EU (160 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) per track

$5.49, £2.49 UK, €3.99 EU (440 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) for “The White Stripes Pack 02”

$2.00 USD (200 Wii Points&#8482 per track

Tracks marked with “*” are 99 cents per track

** Dates for Rock Band game tracks are tentative and subject to change. **

This isn't the normal weekly announcement, so it's likely there will be a few more tracks released next week in addition to these, but Harmonix has announced that a Lady Gaga 4-pack is coming next week. Plus, they are also releasing the South Park version of Poker Face along with the regular version.

LADY GAGA MAKES HER DEBUT ON ROCK BAND WITH A HOT FOUR PACK!

PLUS A SPECIAL COMEDY CENTRAL® SOUTH PARK VERSION OF “POKER FACE”

MTV NETWORKS CELEBRATING DEBUT ACROSS CHANNELS

Cambridge, Mass. – March 9, 2009 – Harmonix and MTV Games today announced that a four pack of songs from pop sensation Lady Gaga, as well as a special Lady Gaga cover by COMEDY CENTRAL’s South Park’s own Eric Cartman will be added next week to the Rock Band Music Store of downloadable content for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Wii™.

Lady Gaga joins the more than 400 artists currently available through the Rock Band platform. With more than 1,100 songs available, Rock Band is, without question, the industry leader in providing the best selection of interactive musical content, songs and artists.

Rock Band DLC Additions for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 System and Wii

Musical maven and international fashionista Lady Gaga makes her Rock Band debut next week with a four pack of songs from both her Grammy® Award-winning and Diamond-certified album The Fame and her latest release The Fame Monster. Lady Gaga became the first artist in Billboard history to chart four No. 1 singles when her smash single “Paparazzi” reached No. 1 in 2009. Recently named creative director for a specialty line of Polaroid® products, Lady Gaga has proven herself to be an innovative powerhouse outside the music realm as well.

“Lady Gaga Pack 01” will include “Bad Romance,” “Just Dance,” “Monster” and “Poker Face” and will be available for purchase as “Lady Gaga Pack 01” as well as individual tracks on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 system, and as individual tracks only on Wii. Lady Gaga is touring Europe and the United States this spring and fall, as part of her successful Monster Ball tour. For more information on tour dates, please visit www.ladygaga.com.

Additionally, a special version of Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face,” made famous by South Park’s Eric Cartman, will also be available in the Rock Band Music Store next week. The track first appeared in the “Whale Whores” episode which will re-air on COMEDY CENTRAL March 16 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT. The 14th season of COMEDY CENTRAL’s Emmy and Peabody Award-winning series South Park premieres Wednesday, March 17 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Just a quick note for Xbox users, Semi-Charmed Life by Third Eye Blind was released on RBN yesterday! Based on the earlier 3EB rumors, there should be more in the pipeline, but I guess they are releasing these one at a time.

So far the RBN output is amazing, they've been releasing 1-6 songs every day. Check the OP for the RBN new release thread link.

I've been pleasantly surprised by some of the RBN additions so far. I've downloaded 5 or 6 songs, and by far the biggest surprise was that they put on Mordecai by Between the Buried and Me. I love that song, and I never expected it to ever be on RB lol.

There is no need for a Rock Band 3 with the RBN now.

Just pump out more songs, that's all anyone wants.

Well, everybody thought 3/30 would be the week of Pantera, but Harmonix never fails to surprise. Big news from Rolling Stone; it seems that an entire Jimi Hendrix album is coming next week and it sounds as if there will be more later on.

Jimi Hendrix Coming to Rock Band

Jimi Hendrix is the greatest guitarist of all time and current Rolling Stone cover star, and now RS can reveal that his legendary albums are coming exclusively to Rock Band with a wave of downloadable content thanks to Harmonix, MTV Games and Experience Hendrix. The guitarist’s entire second LP Axis: Bold as Love will be unleashed as DLC starting March 30th, along with the unearthed Jimi single “Valleys of Neptune” from the new disc of the same name.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++rep to harmonix for NOT including those songs. also, no fire, hey joe, or foxy lady FTMFW.

would've been okay to see voodoo child or the wind cries mary, though.

edit: oh, and i heard the DT rumor, pheran. but that's pretty much all it is, no one from the band has said anything as of yet.

and 'these walls?' weak. ;P nice drum part is about all that song has going. really, to get something that rocks on all instruments and is not absurdly long, you'd have to go back a few albums. i'd murder children for a RB version of metropolis pt2.
