OK, so the Atlantic Records website had posted a claim that Monster by Skillet is coming out for DLC on April 6th, but they have since it ripped it down, so consider it rumor status at this point.

Well, next week is completely random singles, including the already-rumored Monster by Skillet. The Switchfoot track is pretty well known, but I'm not very impressed by this selection.

I was happy to see the second Third Eye Blind song, Never Let You Go, come out on RBN recently. Though I admit that the rerecord sounded a bit odd on the preview, but I haven't had a chance to actually play it yet.

Wow, I never expected such a weak showing from RB DLC - they are looking more like Guitar Hero this week. Harmonix knows it; they apologize right in the announcement. That being said, I rather like the Flyleaf track, I may pick that up.

There's three singles coming your way next week, in the form of a sweet 90's hit, the much rumored return of an RB1 band and a super teen pop track about a British television show with creepy marionettes... what more could you ask for?! This marks the debut of Silverchair and Busted in the RB library, and we're thrilled to have them.

I'm pretty excited about more Coheed, though I admit I'm not familiar with their Black Rainbow stuff yet.

I tried those new coheed songs over the weekend, and I thought they were pretty good. Guns of Summer is pretty damn hard one guitar but the other 2 aren't bad. Personally I thought The Broken was the best out of the 3 songs.

Definitely rumor status at this point, but Worthplaying has posted an article claiming that the rest of the No Doubt album Tragic Kingdom is coming as DLC next week, along with singles from Orianthi and Picture Me Broken. If this is true I'm not real thrilled; I have the original No Doubt collection and that is plenty for me.

EDIT: Never heard of Orianthi before but I'm digging that track; apparently she was the last guitarist for Michael Jackson before he died. If the rumor is true, it looks to be an all-female vocalist week, since PMB and of course No Doubt are also female-fronted.

Well, the rumors are certainly flying this week - now there is talk about a Soundgarden pack based on the following screenshot. However, no date is associated with this one so it could still be for a future week if the No Doubt rumor is true for next week.

The No Doubt rumor was true, so next week is female vocalist fiesta. I'm not really interested in more No Doubt, but I'm grabbing the Orianthi track. The PMB track was OK until it got to the screaming part, which I can do without.

Also, if you haven't already heard, PS3 store updates are moving to Tuesdays, so Xbox/PS3 will get new DLC at the same time now.

Well, this week is an interesting surprise. Grateful Dead fans have been wondering about "Touch of Grey" for a long time, so they'll be happy to see it. And I give a thumbs up to "A Girl Like You" from The Smithereens, that's a forgotten 80s classic there.

With more than 400 artists, including Jimi Hendrix, The Who, AC/DC and Green Day, who are exclusive to Rock Band, as well as more than 1,200 songs available through the Rock Band platform and 65 million songs sold through its download store alone, Rock Band is the undisputed sales and content leader in the interactive music space, providing the deepest and best selection of artists, songs and albums.

Heavy rock legends Pantera are making their Rock Band debut next week in a big way, by bringing fan-favorite album, The Great Southern Trendkill, to the Rock Band Music Library. Pantera formed in Texas in 1981 and has been named to VH1’s “100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock” and MTV’s “Top 10 Greatest Heavy Metal Bands of All Time,” and has sold more than 8 million albums in the United States. The Great Southern Trendkill was released in 1996, as the band’s eighth studio album, reached No. 4 on the Billboard Top 200 and was declared platinum in August 2004. “Floods,” featured on The Great Southern Trendkill, contains a guitar solo that Guitar World voted its 15th Greatest Guitar Solo of All-Time.

Pantera released a greatest hits collection in March 2001, titled 1990-2000: A Decade of Domination, which is available exclusively at Walmart and contains 10 remastered tracks. Additionally, former Pantera drummer Vinnie Paul is set to release an album called Stampede from Hellyeah, his collaboration with members of Mudvayne, Damageplan and Nothingface, in July.

That would be cool. It has happened once before, with Pearl Jam's Backspacer album, but I have zero interest in Pearl Jam so that didn't do me any good.
