just plug in both displays and go into Wizard. It will ask you to select how you want the displays to operate. The wizard can be accessed ithrough the control center (its a button in one of the panels).

i think when you install, it asks you if you want to start the wizard. otherwise, it could just be another bug.

i'd rather go to properties - settings - advanced - 3D tab then use this "control center".
The legacy control panel is still available to use, so your choice.

I'm getting the same problem as aphex. The Wizard doesn't run for me. Maybe ATI will put out a new version of the CCC in a few weeks.

Try advanced view and drag your other monitor into the 2nd box. You should get stretch mode options, if its already in the box, right click on the monitor icon in the box for the options. Do you get an error trying to run the wizard in standard view?

The control center works, and it will improve. I'm a Nvidia owner as well, and they have some work to do themselves...I want something that works, not just a feature claim on the side of the box. Eyecandy is nice too.

Try restarting the runtime.

Its in the advanced folder in the ATI CCC program folder.

Although I kind of like the car, you should be able to control it, cause it's annoying when you are trying to look at something and it's moving and then you lose it.

If you double click on the demo screen, it will go to full screen so its easier to spot the changes.

I like the profile thing. So you can use different settings for different games. Like for a flight simulator I may increase the details.

Okay,

So I finally got the stretch setting to work, but it's totally bogus because I'm stuck at 60Hz. Does anyone have any suggestions regarding what I should do?

I'm using a Radeon 9800 Pro. i've got two monitors that I can use independently at 1600*1200 @ 85Hz. But when I stretch the desktop across the two monitors (3200*1200) I can only use 60Hz.

Any suggestions?

im sorry, but while it may have some great features, i like my system properties, in the system properties. that interface is bulky and I dont like having to deal with another program using its own skin.

i hope they decide to release something with the new gadgets, espially the real time 3d thing, with a standard gui, even better under the properties window.

Right click on the monitor icon in advanced view of the displays manager> Device Properties> Pick the refresh you want to force from the drop down list in the refresh rate overide and pick OK. Tried it on my setup and verified with my monitor OSD that my refresh is at 85Hz.

edit: fixed typo

I gave it the benefit of the doubt, but after playing with it for a while I've uninstalled it.

I just don't like it. The interface is poorly designed, unecessarily confusing, and bulky.

I don't see what the app offers over the regular ATi Control Panel. The use of profiles is a feature we've had for quite a few driver revisions.

The new CCC(*) still doesn't fix the age-old gamma problem. After setting the 3D gamma in CCC, a game would still run in default gamma. You have to rely on in-game gamma controls (which older games don't have). After exiting a game, the desktop would return to default gamma, and you have to open up CCC and re-adjust desktop gamma.

WHEN THE F*** ARE THEY GOING TO FIX THIS???????

I've been testing it and works great for me, I love profiles. At first it was strange but now that I've got used to it I really like it.

Maybe try to use the hotkey manager. You can associate a hotkey with "increase 3D Gamma" and "Decrease 3D Gamma" and try it in the games that don't support in-game controls.

No dice. Only 60 Hz shows. I wonder if there is another way to force the refresh rate.

There is, go to start/run then type dxdiag then scroll to the far right tab (help tab) and there should be a refresh rate override setting. Hope that helps.

OK, I should have mentioned that. Mine also showed 60Hz option only, but I could definately tell the refresh rate was not 60Hz. Checking my monitors refresh rate using its own utility showed that it was at 85Hz, which was what I had set in the refresh rate overide in my prior post. Give it a try.
