New Build CPU Problem

Hi folks,

Currently building:

Q6600, B3 stepping, stock cooling
Gigabyte P35-DS3P
2 GB OCZ DDR2 800
2 SATA HD's,
IDE Plextor 750A Burner
EVGA 8600GT Video card
Antec P190 case

The darn thing runs fine, everthing lights up, all the drives and fans spin, except it won't post (no beeps), and the HS Fan doesn't run.

I took the HSF off, cleaned off the grease, but since I have no Artic Silver, it's a trip to the store to get more paste in the morning before I reattach it. But, I can't figure out the problem. Everything is seated, all the plugs are tight, and the HSF was tight on the MB.

I've stripped out parts, still nothing. Any advice appreciated!

Referring to this photo :camera: of the motherboard, do you have the 8-pin CPU power connector hooked up? This would need either a 4-pin ATX12V cable :camera: (two yellow wires, two black wires) or an 8-pin variant of the same on the latest-generation PSUs.

If the answer to the above is yes..and presuming you have followed assembly instructions properly, you may very likely have a bad power supply.
