Just got some extra cash and I figure its time for me to upgrade my 4 year old Dell P4 1.4ghz. This is my first build, so I want to make sure everything is compatible and I?m not overlooking anything. These are all the parts listed below I will be ordering tomorrow in preparation for my X2 4400+ . This comes out to be about $1400, but I can spend alittle more if I need to. I?m undecided on the power supply. I just want something I know will fit, and will work without problems in the DFI LAN party and Case. Please let me know what you guys think about the power supply and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Everything looks good. But it's funny though, see the build in my sig? That cost me 2000 bucks...hmm...but I guess I bought a lot more stuff (like hard drive, sound card, peripherals, optical drives). Make sure you have anything you need, that setup right there is pretty much the bare minimum in hardware.

I would get the fortron ( and i did get one for myself). It's the best bang/buck at 78 at actbuy. Its very efficient, check out spcr for tests. as long as ur not silence crazy, its the best choice. if you are a silence seeker, get the seasonic.

I would go with the Seasonic. they work just as well as any of the others and having a virtually inaudible PSU never hurts.

Mrvile, i'm going snag all the other parts from my old rig. I think I'm going to go with the same case and Power supply that you have (460w Enermax WhisperII). How do you like that case.. is it worth the hefty price tag?

*Thanks guys for all the input

The case is if freakin beast, I spent about 270 dollars on mine (I got some fanholes drilled into it too, along with the window). I love mine, I love the form factor (psuedo-BTX) and the quality is nuts. It was a huge investment though, so it's a big decision. But all in all I thought it was worth it. And you throw in the watercooling I added and I've got well over 500 bucks in caseage.

I love the PSU too, it's stable as hell and you can control the fan speed.
