When the computer is cut on no image is displayed on the monitor. Due to the lack of a case speaker, we are unable to tell if the computer is posting. Everything appears to be getting power. All fans and leds are on. Any help in what could possibly be the problem would be of great help. Thank you.

I'm assuming you've checked the obvious and tried a different monitor, different video card, on-board video?

We tried the monitor with a different computer, and tonight after work we'll try a different video card.

Most (all?) MSI boards have a bracket that has POST diagnostic LEDs on it. Have you hooked yours up, and if so, check the readout to see where the POST is failing.

Verify that you have the card plugged into the correct PCIe slot, since this board has two of them. One of them operataes at x1 or x4 speeds if you did not get the SLI upgraded version. This board does not have a diagnostic LED.

However your computer case should have a PC speaker inside to connect to your motherboard the same way you connected your power button and reset button. I'd be downright sure of it. Which reminds me... check that the clear CMOS jumper is set in the correct position, and then triple check that you hooked up the power-on switch correctly. It's most likely this is the culprit, or another one of the connected switches.

Yeah, the fact that the P180 appears to not have a case speaker is weird as heck. We tried looking at the CMOS jumper, but the MSI board comes with a reset button instead of jumpers. I'm going to RMA the motherboard.

Well, if you haven't sent it off yet have you tried trying to boot off of only one memory stick? Then replacing it with the other one if that didn't work?

And just to double-check, you made sure to plug in both the square 4pin plug and the other separate molex connector into the motherboard?
