I'm new to Dreamcast-got getting one for Xmas.

What other $9.95 games are good besides Seaman? If I'm going to spend $5 for shipping might as well order more than one.

Also, what third-party controllers are best and where is best place to buy them? Looking for durability, probably.

I'm also a new dreamcast owner. I mean my 6-yr-old who is monopolizing it is a new dreamcast owner .

The boards over at IGN are a little crazy, but those guys have played every game out there, so they might be pretty helpful.

Most of our new ganes are hidden away for the holidays....like the Dreamcast *originally* was :|

Deebone - I think the ToyRus and Amazon deals are pretty much the same thing. If you try to go to the toyrus web site, it will take you to Amazon saying they are now working together. So it basically comes down to if you want to shop online or go to the store.

DC is far superior, no modchip needed, all the games are being ripped. bleh.

but my kid likes the playstation better for kiddie games, and there are some classics not available on the dc.

definite game to buy for dc: Bust a move 4, hopefully super-bust-a-move will be out for DC sometime.

Alright,

I broke down and bought the 2k Sports Pack with an extra controller...

By the way, the 2k Sports pack is actually $169.95, not $159.95... unless they raised it recently.

Now I plan on trying the VGA adapter so I can try playing on my Sony G400 monitor... but I'm a bit confused. (Also keep im mind I've been up for last 48 hours)

How does it exactly work, I think I saw a vga adapter at ebworld.com for like 15 bucks and it looks like an av converter with USB port at the end... Anyone wanna explain the whole Dreamcast on a PC monitor deal to me? Sounds coming out of my speakers, etc etc? Thanks.

it has a special connector on one end.

other side has the audio and choice of


vga,svideo,composite. The vga boxes are a little more complex. Some vga boxes include super video. Not all games play in RGB (vga) mode.

For those who got shipping confirmations from Sega, how many business days did it take them to ship and if possible, where did it ship from? (Their warehouse...)

I ordered Seaman, plus two other titles, and the Sega Smash Pack --and yes, they did charge me the correct price: $53.09-- last Friday the 15th. My order will arrive tomorrow afternoon according to UPS. Sweet!

Oh, to answer your other questions, Culex, I never did receive shipping confirmation via email from Sega, but I was given an order number on the phone, so when I called them tonight, they were able to give me a UPS tracking number. My order shipped from Minneapolis. Oops-- looks like I read that tracking info wrong-- I probably won't get it till Wednesday.

I just called to "track" my 3 copies of Seaman, and they're BACKORDERED! Ugh.. they say they won't ship until early January at the earliest. Oh well.. it's still a hot deal, assuming I get the order.

Just got 5 Seaman in the mail. A few for gifts. Now I need a Dreamcast. Will Funcoland take 3 of these for full credit towards a Dreamcast? Someone said Toys R Us should take them as a return for credit. Help me out I got to wrap this game up with a Dreamcast by X-mas eve. Did anyone else gets their games to?

btw, have any of you tried out Quake 3 arena for dreamcast? if so, is it ANYTHING like the PC version of Q3A (besides the name)? I'm considering getting it but I'm not so sure...

q3a is the same on DC, just lower resolution, and of course difficult to control with the joystick thingee

I asked my nephew about the FPS games and the DC, especially the controller issue, and he says with the Dreamcast keyboard and mouse they work very well.

I also asked him about the lower resolution and he said that he would put up with it until his folks bought him a 32 inch computer monitor (smart-aleck).

FWIW, he's really looking forward to the DC version of Half-Life.

It's a great game system, BTW. I was worried that there might not be enough "kids" titles available (mine are 6 and 10), but it hasn't been a problem.

Got my 2K Sports Pack today...

So far I've been gaming non stop for 12 hours.... I'm a maniac now.

Been playing Grandia II, DOA2, Soul Calibur and Shenmue.

They included in a sonic the hedgehog doll for free... but they also gave me NFL QB Club 2000 instead of NFL2k... oh well.

I love this thing!
