new EPROM for ECS mobo

I am an increasingly humble newbie that was emboldened by all the good deals. I resolved to build my first computer, and it looks like I botched it, big time. I could never get me ECSk7s5a/duron 1000 to load XP, so I tried everything. Everything included flashing the BIOS, and I managed to get to the point where nothing will happen--the screen says it's checking the NVRAM and that's it

I assume that I have three choices

1) Get an EPROM programmer and try again to flash the bios

2) buy a new motherboard.

3) take it to a shop.

What say ye, anandtechers? Forge on, or admit defeat?

i would reccomend u take this to the Motherboard forum.....

anyways have u tried flashing the bios back to the default via jumpers? This wont help your XP problem, but it shpuold get your computer running again at least

try motherboard forum... for such request.

this is a hotdeal forum.

as for your mobo situation... you're going to have to explain a bit more about it.

is it not booting?
or does it not go through installation process properly?
or after installation, the computer doesn't load all the way through?

what kind of powersupply do you have... this mobo is very sensitive to 3.3v&5v rail.
you want to make sure you have an amd certified psu.

Take it back I have loaded XP on 3 of thoee MB combos 1 XP and 2 of the 1 gig duran with no problems my friends who had problems took it back got a new one and it loaded fine.Are you sure your Memory and cables to the Harddrive and cdrom are good?
