any suggestions on which case to get??!! the rig is mentioned above if you wanna look at it for compatibility.

for the opteron 165, i know that if it's o/ced 400MHz more, it's still cool for the stock cooling. but i might go for the thermalright XP-120 later.
btw, after the case is decided, also shed some light on the psu and how many fans (with mm) would be recommended.

thanks!!!!!!!

i read about the antec p180. i think i'll go for it.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811129154

regarding the PSU: Antec TRUEPOWERII TPII-480 ATX12V 480W Power Supply - Retail (85/-)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817103929
anyone knows something cheaper than that?? one thing that's a problem with the p180 and psu is that the psu should have a lengthy cable to reach the m/b. does antec TPII-480 has a long enough cable??

also, how many fans would the p180 have in the package?? i think two 120x120x38mm. would i need anymore fans with the rig (if yes, please mention the dimensions)??

Uh.. Get the P180 for sure. People whine on here about it being a pain to work in, but its not NEARLY as bad as people think. It's on par with the reviews youll find in google. They mention you need a little bit of extra 'elbow' work to get it together, but in the end its worth it. It's constructed very well. The P180 comes with 3 case fans.

I was convinced to get a Seasonic 600W PSU. I couldn't be happier. The thing hammers out its rails with very little distortions and its extremely quiet for a PSU. Youre going to want at least 500w to run those components, especially after reading how much of a hog the X1800XT is and with overclocking, you're going to want something that can fill its rails very nicely.

i decided on the Antec TPII-550 (60/-). hmmmmm, unfortunately, seasonic 600W (~150/-) and seasonic 550W (~125/-) are a little bit expensive .
any idea if the antec tpII 550 would have long cables to reach the m/b?? i think it has but just confirmin. wouldn't the psu would be enough to power the rig?? any issues with the TPII-550?? ex: the OCZ psu used in the anandtech review of p180 didnt fit. i hope the TPII-550 fits.

on another note, is the Lian Li PC-V1000 (200/-) even a case to consider for a hefty price?? it has same design like the p180 with some serious looks. both are silent.

i guess the g5ish looks killed me . btw, pc-v1000 is out.

the below links compares the various setups. the p180 comes out on top in noise and coolin performances with different settings. it beats the pc-v1000 even in noise at the same fan settings. it's 2C more that the coolest in CPU/GPU cooling.

Its gone. You should have bought them while they were in stock, everyone and their grandmother's bought one.

They are all 1MB Cache. 1x 2 cores = 2 total

i'm gettin a discount on the ATI card. now, comparing RADEON X850XT PCIe 256M (200/-) with the 7800GT card, which one would be worth it??

also, lookin at just the 7800GT 256MB cards, i find so may vendors with different core and memory speeds. how can i distinguish between them??
ex: the asus's is at ~380/- (400MHz, 1000MHz) whereas the eVGA's is at ~320/- (445MHz, 1070MHz). how do i compare these two cards??

please help!!!!!

following is the rig that i would be ordering by tonight. please have a look at it and let me know what you think. to the best of my knowledge, i think all the parts are compatible. please let me know if there's something that i need to worry about.
****i could NOT find the opteron 165 so just going for the opteron 170.****

i ALREADY have the seagate 160GB sata, 7200rpm, and WD 36.7GB, 10000rpm raptor. i would worry about the monitor, dvdw, fdd later.
i would be ordering from newegg since a lot of good reviews from my friends. lookin forward to hear from you all. (*nail-biting*, *nervous*)

For Graphics i would DEF. recomend you go SLI ( 2 x High End graphics cards like the geForce 7800GT or GTX) With that you would need to change some things that support SLI like your PSU, MOBO etc.. Read up on it its new and will only get better. Im building a rig really similar to yours. I made a post (Building a Gaming Rig..NEED MUCH ADVICE!) you can check to see what im planing on getting
