New Gaming PC

hi Guys,

I am new to this forum. However have been gaming for quite some time now. Have decided to go for a new gaming pc and thought you guys can help me out.

Following are the specs i have decided to go for:

1. Cabinet - NZXT -LEXA S Crafted Series PC Case - Black
2. Keyboard + Mouse Combo - Microsoft - Wireless Desktop 2000
3. HDD - Seagate® Barracuda® 3.5" - SATA 3Gb/s; 500GB, 7200 rpm, 16mb Cache (model No.ST3500641AS-RK)
4. Optical Disk Drive - LG - Internal 24x Super-Multi Drive (GH24NS72)
5. Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3-iSSD
6. Processor - Intel Core i5-2500 (6M Cache, 3.7GHz)
7. RAM -Corsair Vengeance 8GB (4GB x2) PC3-12800 DDR3-1600 DDR3
8. Graphics Card - ASUS GTX 560 DirectCU Graphics Card (ENGTX560 DC/2DI/1GD5)
9. PSU - Corsair Gaming Series GS600 - 80 PLUS

A few pointers:

1. I am not going to overclock. Rather I would use the money to better my config
2. I already have a 21inch LG LED monitor and hence not included
3. My budget is Rs. 55000 max and i found this config to best fit it
4. I am not going for external cooling as of now
5. Have kept my option open for SLI and hence have selected the mentioned MOBO. Also it have an onboard intel 20GB SLC SSD which i think is an excellent option

Please let me know your feedback on this and any suggestions to improve the config without crossing my budget.

I haven't followed hardware to closely for a few years now (really only brush up on it when I need to upgrade), but I'd suggest one thing, don't go wireless on the kb/m unless you really need too. Also get a gaming mouse over some generic one.

Low end wireless mice/keyboards tend to have enough of a delay in the time between movement of the mouse and movement shown in game that i can be a annoying. If you have played games on the combo you have in your list and are happy with how they perform then go for it. In your position i would either get a cheap $10 keyboard and a mouse along these lines:

Or i would forgo the expensive motherboard and put the money back into a better keyboard and mouse.

I would change that CPU to an i5/3450 or a good i3. It would be fine for gaming and if you're not going to OC there's no reason to buy Sandy Bridge.

Also, the PSU is overkill unless you want to go SLI in the future.

thanks... i shall surely consider your inputs. Yes i have included a higher wattage PSU as i have provisioned for SLI in the near future. but if you can suggest a better card than 560 gtx using the saved monies, i may drop SLI altogether

OP, u're Indian right? For that money, you can get a pretty decent config if you already have a good monitor. Also for the PSU, just get the ANTEC Earthwatts 600. SLI includes a lot of headaches which you are better off without. I'd also recommend investing in a 120GB SSD.

I would go for a better single card over SLI any day. Do you want nVidia or are you fine with AMD as well? You might want to look into a 7870 or, if you want to overclock, and I don't see why you wouldn't, a 7850.

For nVidia, I would suggest a 660 TI if your budget can take it, which would be perfect for your resolution. Or you could wait a few weeks and see how the 650 performs.

H77 included
i5 3570 included
wireless kb/m replaced with wired ones
Trying to fit in a good ssd
sticking to nvidia gtx 560 for the time being

No, it is not worth it. Drawing the desktop UI uses so little power on a modern GPU that offloading work to the iGPU isn't worth the extra complication.
