New intel motherboard (recommend)???

I'm looking for a new motherboard that is very stable and performs well. I currently have a ASUS CUSL2 MB and love it. It's the most stable hassle free motherboard I have ever owned. Since I want to stay with the Intel processor, can anyone recommend and good motherboard for a 1.4 or higher processor? What replaced the ASUS CUSL2 MB ????

For the P4, go get yourself a Asus P4S333+some DDR333. Best P4 board around.

Yes, me too. Thats what you get with an Intel chipset mobo. I assume you are going P4 since you say 1.4 or higher. Go for an Intel i850 RDRAM or i845 DDR ram setup from a good mfgr such as ASUS. You will have the same rock solid stability as you do now.

For a P4, the Intel i845 DDR boards are looking better all the time. Super fast, rock solid.

I suggest:

ASUS P4B266 based on the Intel i845D,
ASUS P4S333 based on the SiS 645,
ASUS P4T-E based on the Intel i850.

You might also want to wait just a little longer for ASUS to release the P4B266-E with an additional Promise ATA133 Controller.

I saw 400+ the other day. The 2.2 was originally coming in at 600+, but that was cut to 500+....

I havent done much with P4 overclocking yet. So..... A P4 2.0 Northwood 20X multiplier....on a 133 FSB = 2.66 GHz. Will this be possible on an 845 DDR setup? From what I understand, good PC2100 ram will be OK. Do the 845 boards have the proper 1/4 PCI dividers and such to run this setup?

As I understand it, you can run the memory speed independent of the FSB, so the PCI divider is not really a factor on the P4B266. In any case, yes the board should have the 1/4 multiplier.
