Read my post again, those prices ARE WITH a 2 year contract at RELEASE, so a treo WILL cost you 499 with contract at release time just like this iphone and it sure as hell won't come with 4 gigs of storage and an integrated ipod.

5hr talk/browsing/video/etc time
16hr music playback
And to answer some other questions I've seen through all the threads, I just saw this:
http://www.engadget.com/2007/01/09/the-iphone-is-not-a-smartphone/
--No user replaceable battery
--No memory expansion
--No WiFi iTunes sync nor OTA iTMS purchases
--No real Exchange/Office support
It also mentions no 3rd party software can be installed on it, but I can't believe the widgets will be Apple-only.

The hardware limitations really suck, but they could remedy the software flaws with updates, of course.Originally posted by: FreshPrince

hmm, those are some major flaws...
don't pay for Data, but Im talking about speeds on the Cingular network with a 3G phone.

1. You need to work on your reading comprehension
2. Learn to link and quote
3. I'll say it again, the prices I quoted are all at each phone's *RELEASE TIME* because it's the only price you can compare the iphone's price to, unless you're an idiot and think it's fair to compare a new phone that's not even out to a phone that has been out for months/years and therefore has steep discounts. Once again, $499 is the standard price out of the gate in this sector of the market with a 2 year contract.
I think some of you are confused, this phone is subsidized just like all the other pda phone's, it is $499 with a two year contract and it will go down in price just like all other phone's most likely.

Then you're not testing your speed accurately. The 3g system only has a few sites for access. You can't test it. It's okay though-as long as you like your service.

You're wrong lad. A treo will cost you $299 with a two year contract NOT $499.
TREO and 6700 link You have to enter your zip.
Ad hominem is such a lame argument.

Please Apple fanbois?
Ahh... so it offers Blackberry-like e-mail experience. However, I wonder if companies will be able to run their own push-IMAP servers to use with the employees' company mailbox. But as it stands right now, it doesn't sound like this phone is targeted for the business users, i.e., why would a company purchase a more expensive phone that will provide more capabilities than needed. And how many users will be running their own IMAP-push servers? Very few.Originally posted by: HN
not sure if this addresses the question (as i'm behind on email services stuff) but from Engadget:Originally posted by: her209
Wow... and they said RIMM stock was overhyped. I have to ask, what kind of e-mail services does it provide, ie, push or pull? Oh, and good luck getting this to work with Microsoft's ActiveSync technology or BlackBerry's service.
(reposted from the other iPhone thread in case the other one gets locked)
"It connects to any POP3 or IMAP email -- Yahoo Mail, MS Exchange, Mac Mail... POP3: Gmail, AOL mail, and most ISPs... let's highlight one, Yahoo mail. Today we are announcing Yahoo will offer free push-IMAP email to iPhone customers. This isn't just IMAP, this is push-email, same as a BlackBerry."
