Assuming the 2nd computer isn't DOA as well
Depends on how many other customers are waiting on a BCM module. If the working parts don't come from the factory in time the one or two dead modules that the dealers keep sending back and the parts supplier keeps sending out will make their way back to you.

I haven't driven the v6 with the indy rear yet but did find a 2012 v6 stang to be a great drive too. If I really needed to keep the money and the realistic side of my brain was working a V6 stang is really all I would need 99% of the time.

It's functional (unlike the last BCM replacement, which was DOA), but it won't map to my car. Looks like I'm in the loaner for another week
Jeep's I2R team expedited one out to my service center; the BCM is getting installed tomorrow. Hopefully it fixes some issues! Got a 200 as a loaner in the meantime. Have not heard back from the third-party arbitrator yet. If the BCM does what I hope it will do, and with winter coming up again, I may just keep it until next year when what I owe matches KBB value & do a straight swap for something else. Right now I have my eye on the redesigned GMC Acadia. What bugs me is that I still really like my Renegade, I just have trust issues with it
Side note, I stopped in Moab the other day and saw a TON of Renegades. They were pretty much all Trailhawks, which are now available in a bunch of colors (previously was only a slate blue, which I really liked), but it still annoys me that they're only available in automatic! Also oddly enough, saw plenty of 2017 Kia Sportages. I've only seen one or two in CT but probably saw a dozen down there. It looks an awful lot like a 2006-era Subaru Tribeca, only smaller. I need to go test-drive the updated design one of these days...
Ended up renting a modded Wrangler for the day & tooling around the desert for awhile. Would have liked to have seen how well my Renegade would have done, but the Rubicon had 35's & a lift kit, lockers, etc. and there were some tricky parts on the trail even with that stuff loaded on. It was a blast tho, sad there are no legal public trails in CT! Also sad I didn't have more time to stay, I could have spent weeks there, so much fun stuff to do!
Another side note, rented a V6 Mustang for my time out west (turned out to be cheaper than a sedan!). Pretty fun, such a difference with IRS. Almost drove as nice & tight as my previous '13 Civic, but with more power of course. I definitely prefer to the 4-cylinder turbo tho...the 6 had plenty of power for buzzing around, but I've driven the turbo 4 a couple times & really had a blast with it (although I preferred the auto to the stick on the turbo, haven't tried the V8 yet tho!). The good news is that it convinced my wife that it was a viable machine, so I have WAF for a 'stang trade-in if desired
Where did you rent the mustang from? I have some vacation time coming up soon and was thinking of taking a road trip (or maybe flying) out west.
How are you not lemon-law'd yet?Took it home with BCM #4. A few glitches here & there, but nothing major. Sometimes it goes a month between major failures though, so it's a waiting game. BCM history:
1. Factory stock
2. DOA
3. Wouldn't mate
4. Just installed
Supposedly it's installed...I picked it up after their techs had gone home, and the paperwork only mentions #3, the one that wouldn't mate, nothing about a replacement. I'll call Monday to see if they can provide paperwork that they did, in fact, install a full replacement BCM & not just put #1 back in again.
Stopped by a GMC dealership. Checked out the Terrain & Acadia. Oddly, I did not fit well in the larger Acadia SUV. Checked out both a used '15 and what I think was the newer redesigned model. The seat stopped going back before I was comfortable...it gave me that cramped feeling like when you're in sardine-class on an airliner (I have long legs). That made it an automatic "no". Surprisingly the smaller Terrain was a more comfortable fit, but the ergonomics were kinda weird. Oh yeah, and the Acadia drove like a truck. I have to say, hats off to Dodge on the Durango because it drove amazingly well for being such a big car.

Yeah but isn't the depreciation hit MUCH more than a lawyer would cost? It is a non-Wrangler Jeep after all.
You might like the Taurus SHO. Fast and handles winter pretty well for a car. It's partial AWD.

I did like the Charger, aside from the transmission...still had the lag issue tho, which irks me quite a bit. I don't like a delay when I need to punch it, and it has to downshift through all of those gears to get to the one with the powerband to move it. I'm also not set on new anymore, the Renegade just happened to be a first-year model, so it wasn't available used yet. May also lease again, we'll see. I just learned about one-pay lease, where you pay ahead & can save a few grand over the course of the lease, which is pretty cool - more money up-front, but cheaper over the long-term. There have been a lot of really appealing 2-year leases advertised lately as well, plus some decent 3-year offers. My buddy got a brand-new Civic for $3k down & $79/mo with 10k miles a year for 3 years. Absolutely bonkers. It's a base model, but even those have backup cameras, Bluetooth, etc. these days.
So many options.
Chargers are leasing around $300.- with no money down. Considering how FCA has treated you I doubt that is appealing..... So how about $3k cash back and 0% interest on a Caddy ATS? My buddy has one and they are worth a look. I really like the way it handles.
Kaido, Have you looked at ford Edge at all? Might be out of the budget for brand new, but lightly used they aren't too bad .. and they are damn nice. Ford's AWD system is supposed to be decently good, and car has lots of room for tall people. Good legroom and headroom front & back. The one we picked up is a 2010 with the base engine (3.5L v6, NA). Its no corvette, but its quite a bit quicker than my 08 Forester. Woman has been driving it the last couple weeks, we will go for a 250 mile road trip Labor day to give it a real highway test, but thus far its been a lot better than we had expected.
In regards to an FCA product this is the funniest thing I've read all week.that I could keep a loooooooong time (10 to 15+ years)
I simply cannot believe that Jeep hasn't just bought this out (at full price even) by this point. The amount of bad press that you could give them alone (especially if you brought in some of the media) could cost them far more, not to mention the possible loss of a future customer. You're handling this much better than I would at this point.
