Looks cool! I can't wait. No bulb to replace, lower energy/heat and fan noise....

Best part about it ... LED light source not fade away in brightness, but it will also keep the color intensity and range.

Leds hold the full spectrum over the life of bulb.

Should be nice! I was also told the price should be reasonable.

Yeah but it won't be long before Leds start taking over... I'm actually waiting for the RGB Leds and 3 DLP Chip. Would eliminate the color wheel. Anyway, 1000 Lumen is the best you can get for now.

My DLP (3 1/2 years old) just hit the 1000 hour mark, so by the time I get to the 3000 hour mark (1/2 life) hopefully LED's will be affordable, native 16:9 (or 2.35:1), and brighter.

I'll keep my eyes on these as they sound interesting.

Yeah but it won't be long before Leds start taking over... I'm actually waiting for the RGB Leds and 3 DLP Chip. Would eliminate the color wheel. Anyway, 1000 Lumen is the best you can get for now.

Why bother with 3 DLP chips if you have discrete red, green, and blue LED's? Current LED designs use a single DLP chip and no color wheel.

I didn't realize light uniformity is an issue with LED designs. We're talking about a LED chip <1" diagonal. Uniformity definitely wasn't a complaint on the recent home theater LED DLP projectors.

I just bought the LS HS201 for general purpose use. Man this thing is bring at only 200 ANSI lumens. Color is awesome and for DVD/blueray it's awesome. I can use it for general viewing knowing that I don't have to worry about bulb life.

At 1000 ANSI Lumen, this Samsung unit will be real bright.

It'll be about time. Was a couple of years back at least when they were talking up LED projectors, but all we've gotten so far are $500 mini-projectors that wouldn't be useful for much of anything. I guess we do have a projector for a phone now, but 120" 1080p without having to worry about the bulbs would be huge.

I guess the same is true of OLED and everything else.

There are a couple LED DLP theater projectors on the market already, but they are expensive. Like, $15,000 expensive...

The BenQ W30000 is supposed to be a LED design with a retail price well under $10k, but the price-point is only a rumor at this poin.
