Any keyboard that has shorter key travel than the old wireless keyboard is going to be garbage. The new Macbook's keyboard is unbearable (he said as he typed this message on his expensive wired, mechanical keyboard)
I think it's a case of you either love it or hate it. I personally didn't like it either. Nothing quite like the satisfying click and deep indentations of an old style keyboards.
The trackpad is all I'd want. I love Apple trackpads.
Much prefer my Logitech BT keyboard to just about anything, and Apple would have to pay me a hefty wage for me to ever subject myself to actually using one of their mice.
