This is the official moderator nomination thread for Cases & Cooling.

We will compile a list of nominees through Monday night. Voting on nominees will take place in this thread Tuesday through Thursday. The candidate with the most votes will have the opportunity to become a moderator for this and one other secondary non-social forum of their choosing.

Either before or after the vote, a candidate can withdraw his or her name from consideration. In the event that the candidate with the most votes withdraws his or her name, the candidate with the next most votes will be extended the opportunity, and so on.

AnandTech resevers the right to veto nominations at our discretion. We will do our best to allow you to pick the candidates you feel best suit the needs of your forum, but we won't allow members who can't follow guidelines to be put in a position to enforce them on others.

We will keep a list of nominees in this thread. If a nominee has been vetoed or has withdrawn their name from consideration, a note will be made next to their name. This will be done to prevent multiple posts nominating the same member. If the member you want to moderate this forum is already on the list, please don't post.

Please only post the name of the nominee in your replies. Please make sure it is spelled correctly before posting.

NOMINEES:

aigomorla
Zepper
bonzaiduck
DerwenArtos12
narzy

Times up. It's Monday night and the nominations are over.
The voting on your selections will begin as soon as we have
looked things over and we post the candidates on Tuesday.
Thanks everyone for your nominations.

I'd say Zepper for cases, and Aigomorla for watercooling. But Aigomorla is very watercooling orientated, and then also very much geared towards pure performance. Perhaps DerwenArtos12 to balance it out a little.

IMHO the job of mods is to make sure the rules are getting followed not necissarily to know the most about any given subject. Obviously if the mod knows nothing about the forum their moderating they won't be of much use but, knowledge and adherence to the rules should be more of a deciding factor than knowledge of a given cooling type or product category.

That being said if my name does go on the ballot I'll vote for myself just to make sure I get at least one vote.

EDIT:

PS. Thank you for the name drop, if it ammounts to nothing else I'll take it as a little bit of thanks for the time/effort. This place helped me a lot when I first got into computer building and was trying to sort out why computer engineers are so OCD and why the IEEE spends so much time trying to make such specific standards when it comes to computers and thought/think it's the least I can do to take what knowledge I have and at least make an attempt and helping people. Plus AT gets the old lady outa my hair for a few hours a day.

Hello All,

Just to keep perspective on things, knowledge of the subject in the section isn't a requirement for moderator. They just have to read most of the messages to patrol for foul language, personal attacks, and other rule violations. Just another Net Nanny... IAC, thanks for the nominations. Who knows, you might be getting someone like Will Ferrel's Hot Tub Attendant character - gets a little authority and runs with it...

Zepper's a case allright!, DerwenA is up there too, Aigo is tops in WC and the Duck sure moves the hot air.
All in all I'd have to agree w/ Zepper, we are talking about a net nanny,,,
this is not a job I would want, nor wish on anyone if they didn't want the position to start with.

My greatest appreciation and respect to all of you on this board, this is the site I come to when I need direction, guidance and and/or ideas, Anandtech has yet to let me down.

If Zepper wants it, it seems to me he is around here most often and has a great knowledge of many cases (besides his own!) I would give him my nod.

Hope he doesn't make watercooling as a pre-requisite to join the forum.
