I'm feeling both dumb and lazy by asking for help on this, but it's becoming hard for me to figure out what's a good buy. I swung by microcenter to look at the Auria 27" 1440p monitor and determined it's 1) awesome 2) too large and 3) too expensive for my needs right now
So my tech lust is tempered, I think I want a 1080p IPS in the 20-23" in size (lower size = higher PPI, right?). My uses are medium duty gaming (eve online, no FPS), general desktop work, remote medical software (portrait mode is helpful), and bluray playback.
Unfortunately, it's easy to find a ton of monitors that seem OK, but I know the response rates on IPS panels is not reliable to go by, and I'm not sure where the best place to buy/deal would be. I have amazon prime and have MC, bestbuy, and other big stores nearby to purchase from. Budget is ~ $140 shipped/after tax. can potentially go up for some helpful features such as ATSC tuner or 3d capable, but not significantly.
I was thinking of this HP monitor, but there's a huge list of < $130 monitors at MC that I don't know are much worse
I don't need to stick with MC, just that store alone made my search very wide and confusing.
Thanks!
