new ms wireless intellimouse explorer

just got my first wireless mouse, they were having a sale at office max on the ms intellimouse explorer. i'm loving the wireless aspect but the scroll wheel feels funny - there's a lot of resistance, it's almost hard to roll it. is this supposed to be this way or do i have a bad unit?

For some reason the scroll wheel on the MS wireless mice don't roll as smoothly. Not sure why. I had the same problem with one and sold it because of that.

LOL! yeah, i've been thinking about the logitech, but the price on this was too good to pass up. plus, i don't really like the placement of the "thumb" buttons on the left side of the logitech mouse - too far back.

Yes it is a bit sticky and odd feeling. Thats the way it is.

they're like that for about half a year... after that they get broken in and it's smooth sailing from there on out.

they designed it that way so the tilt feature works.

Well normally when you first get it it feels a little stiff but as you keep using it it eventually loses its stiffness.
