I know this forum has long since been any place to discuss hardware, but these threads just detract from any attempt to rebuild that reputation.

(Irony noted in my posting of it, but I have long since attempted to get video information from this forum, I honestly wonder how many treat this whole place as a forum to display their latest video jokes...)

Actually, I think it's the lack of a sense of humor that has plagued the forum. If people would lighten up and realize that these are just computer parts and not your life blood, maybe they would not get so upset all the time.

OK, ok, you got me there. The Weyerbacher IPAs can get me excessively emotional, apparently. It is probably the tension that makes it so. Like you said, too many people are devoted to one way or another, which makes me wonder how many video forum regs are communists?

Like I said in the other thread, I just like the thought of competition, it is what capitalism was founded on. Creative's stranglehold on the sound card market should be a reminder as to why competition breeds innovation. I have been using onboard sound for over four years after my last discrete sound purchase of an Aureal sound card. (Which has since been dissolved by Creative) They truly have an ironic name.

I have owned a 3d accelerator from every manufacturer who has made them, and only purchased them after through reviews (sans the V5 5500, that was all hype) and stay pretty far behind the curve. I am not taking any of this personal, just as I hope you were not taking the picture out of context I posted personal.

It doesn't really help much, but I guess there is nothing better to do, as it almost seems AMD wants to forget about the discrete GPU market and try to corner Intel with their recent acquisition.
