Hi all,

I am coming from a AMD 64 X2 3800+ computer and it is showing its age. I am currently purchasing items for an i7 860 build. This will be used for heavy photoshop with some HD video editing in the future. I am tired of a full tower and wanted something smaller so I went SFF.

I already have:
CPU - Core i7 - 860 2.80GHz
Motherboard - Gigabyte P55M-UD2
PSU - Antec TruePower 550W
RAM - 2xG.Skill 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1333
Case - Lian Li PC-V351
Optical - Sony Optiarc Black 24X DVD+R
HD - Intel X25-M 80GB

I want to add 2TB for storage and can't decide between the WD Caviar Green 1TB and the Samsung Spinpoint F1 1TB or would a WD Caviar Black 1TB benefit me at all?

I also do occasional gaming and cant decide if I should go with a HD 5850 or HD 5770. The resolution would be 1920x1200.

My budget is around $500 and I wanted to purchase everything by mid November.

My last concern is that I am moving to Japan and am wondering if there would be a way for me to bring the completed build on a plane.

Uhhh... you've got more than $1000 parts from Newegg on there already? How does that work?

If the drives are for storage only, I'd go for the green. You'll appreciate the lower sound and heat (particularly in a SFF where thermals are def a concern. if it were a boot drive I'd definitely say go for the black or samsung, but not for storage

He's calculating like the Federal Government does...
Just classify any expenses over the $500 as "off budget" items.:laugh:

That's a great build. Quick question for you guys--would a ATI 4890 fit in that case well?

I've already purchased those items and have $500 left for the rest of the build.
