I'm glad you take the NYT at face value.

No Q7 will cost you $50k after taxes and the numerous fees.

Luxury ones do, and Audi is undeniably a luxury European brand.

Do you plan on driving for many years, like most Americans? Yes? Well, money has time value, so simple arithmetic says it's financially advantageous to sign a 5-year note to own a car, versus the far less financially responsible action of paying perpetual monthly lease payments for cars the rest of your life, in the name of, erm, 'put option' flexibility. But if you want to stay poor, leasing is a good deal.

I don't think I will be voting for Fern for President. Geez, a put option.....

As Christopher Hitchens oft mocked: "All The News That's Fit To Print".

But, besides the fact that Kerry indubitability purchased his boat with cash (equivalent to miniscule catsup heiress profits) rather than leasing, the real story is Rubio's conspicuously anti-patriotic absence of a gigantic American flag!

I don't believe that anyone has a problem with NYT looking into the management of his finances....it's the rhetoric used, the trivialities "reported", and the way it was framed. Hit piece is hit piece...highly partisan yellow journalism. The NYT has lost a good chunk of its integrity imo.

Glad to see you've moved on to concern trolling the NYT.

It's very odd that you haven't called out similar, worse pieces about democratic candidates in the past. I'm sure you were about to but just ran out of time though.

Someone's been watching Hannity. :whiste:
No, Hannity just makes me angry - at Hannity. I think I watched him twice. The second time confirmed what I learned the first time I watched and that was the end of it.

The NYT has offended your sense of morality. You feel their attack is evil, that they poison the well of truth and justice. You are morally outraged, your sense of justice and fairness has been betrayed. And you are all alone on your morality quest. So very few can understand. I think I understand because I used to have such big strong hands, but the Nothing still won. I could not prove the good exists to the doubters, so I died. I couldn't hold on. I crashed and burned.

He can't. One strong breeze and the boat would either capsize or be halfway to Nova Scotia.

He could at least paint the damn thing in a patriotic color scheme though. What's with that banana creme pie theme?

The first article contains a lengthy list of highly questionable financial decisions by Rubio. Collectively they would give me pause at electing him President (not that I would be inclined to vote for him anyway), because they seem to reflect a lack of judgment and care.

And once again DSF outs himself as a ridiculous troll and ignorant of reality. IOW, par for the course from him.

Reason I said that is because he was showing Kerry's boat compared to Rubio's "Dingy" a few days ago and going off like he does. I like tuning to Fox for a couple of minutes each night. I get to argue with the TV.

Fricking lawyers

"The first thing we must do is kill all the lawyers,"

I've been thinking about that quote for a while and you know what, I think we can get away with it. If we kill ALL of the lawyers we won't have adequate representation at our trial so they won't be able to prosecute us.

I completely understand, even when I've agreed with him on subjects the way he delivers it just generally pisses me off, he is a douche of the highest magnitude.

Conservatives just seem to be congenitally unable to get anything right. Hannity is a very decent and kind person, a nice guy as it were, and it's pretty obvious. He's just wrong about so many things. That doesn't make him a douche, for God's sake.

Fricking lawyers

I pretty much count on every politician not having a clue how to run a budget or even track expenses.
Hey, even I would have to say maybe. Can't discount the possibility of the Pubbies putting up somebody even more repulsive than the Hildabeast. Santorum for instance, who is no doubt a perfectly decent person as long as he approves of your lifestyle but needs to be kept as far from power as possible. Or Rick Perry. Hell, there isn't a likely GOP candidate who can't at least give her a run for her foreign-donated money. It's entirely possible to get a challenger so heinous that voting for Her Hillaryness is the lesser evil.

But hey, we need to give the New York Times a break. I have it on good authority (the New York Times itself) that they are publishing a newspaper in a city that is submerged. That has to be difficult, especially for someone not smart enough to move out of the doomed city with a decade's notice.

No Q7 will cost you $50k after taxes and the numerous fees.

Yes, they're listed witha MSRP below $50k.

I also think you're overlooking a a very significant possibility: Rubio's supporter, Norman Braman, owns Audi dealerships. Any chance Rubio got a good deal?

Luxury ones do, and Audi is undeniably a luxury European brand.

FFS, the guy's a Senator. A $50k car in Miami is nothing.

Do you plan on driving for many years, like most Americans? Yes? I can see that the 'math' I explained went completely over your head.

Bottom line is the cost etc were almost exactly the same. A lease is the same as a sale. The difference (all other things such as purchase price and interest rate being the same - which I solved for in my computations) is that a lease comes with a guaranteed 'sale back' at a predetermined price(or put option as i termed it) at your election.

If you initial acquisition is a sale you have no guarantee of the vehicle's value/sales price should you decide to sell it after several years.

In any case blanket statement's that one is always better than the other are stupid.

What's important is that we can all agree that Rubio is a piece of shit and that Hillary would never do ANYTHING that might be construed as a bad decision, or have made ANY questionable financial moves.

All in favor say AYE?

MSRP of near $50k means real price of near $60k, especially since he got add-ons. And yeah, it's possible he got a great deal because of his Braman connection, which would be a negative story in of itself.

FFS, the guy's a Senator. A $50k car in Miami is nothing.

Yeah, again, a $60 Audi is a luxury expense.

Not all leases come with those terms. Maybe you got a lease and want to defend it, but sorry, it's conventional wisdom that buying is almost always better than leasing. I'm sorry you didn't know.
