Hello,
I've just built a new system with the following specs:
ABIT KT7-RAID Socket-A KT133 ATX
256 MB PC 133 RAM (generic)
AMD Duron 700 MHz cpu @ 893, GlobalWin FOP32 fan on it
ATI Radeon All In Wonder 32 MB AGP
3 Com 10/100 network card
Soundblaster 64 AWE Gold
30 GB Maxtor HD ATA 66 slave
6 GB Maxtor HD ATA 33 master
10x DVD (Hitachi I believe?)
Sony 2x CD RW
Mid tower case
300 Watt power supply
I connected the bridges on the Duron chip using the pencil method so it's possible to overclock it, and am currently running at 893 MHz. Anything over this causes my PC to halt when it tries to load Windows. I have no idea what settings to change in the BIOS though....I don't really understand the voltage requirements / clock and multiplier settings I should be running at to achieve peak performance from my machine. If anyone could post what settings would let me hit 950ish to 1000 MHz and run stable I would greatly appreciate it.
I also have an extra GlobalWin FOP32 fan kicking around, where would be the optimal place to mount it in the case?
Lastly, and a little off the topic of overclocking, anyone know how I can delete some of the programs which autorun when I boot up without playing with Regedit? I hate how Norton Systemworks, ICQ, Realplayer and Matrox always run when I startup.
Thanks in advance.
