Newbie wants Overclock info please....

I was curious if I can gain any free performance out of my computer by over clocking it? Just curious if anybody knows right offhand what is safe to do and what the easiest way to do it. Here are the system specs:

AMD Athalon T-bird 1gig
MSI Kt7a pro 2 MOBO
512 mb DDR pc2100
Vantec cpu fan
enlight 300 watt PS
nvidia geforce 2 mx400
The MOBO has the most recent bios update
I'm running a clean install of Win XP pro on a WD 60 gig HDD(7200 rpm)

First, the obvious, unlock the CPU. Then just ease your way up with the FSB. Not sure about your mobo's ability to do this, but you'll need one that allows you to move up in small steps. (i.e. 133FSB, 134FSB, 135FSB, etc, etc. ) Any big steps are more than likely going to crack your CPU right off. Also, you might want to get a better CPU fan. Get your CPU temp down to about 35degrees Celcius at full load full load just to be safe. Maybe even lower. You're going to need a low temp since you're going to make it a lot hotter by oc'ing it. Just some basics. You can find many sites on how to unlock the CPU all over the web, and AT.

Get your cpu temps down to 35? Ouch, that is going to be tough, I have an XP 1600 in an SX1030 and when it is cool in my house I can get it down to 33 at idle maybe 39-40c under prime 95 load and thats with an ALPHA PAL 8045 and 48.5 cfm fan. I say get your temp as low as possible and dont let it run above say 50c at idle during an OC attempt. Will be VERY tough to get a 1G tbird down to 35c under load with most of the mobo's out there.
