I can't imagine the look on my face on a $380 cpu at a 6 month funeral...ROFL. It's like being kicked in the balls. I can't imagine a $100 cpu with that happening. I'd still be pissed unless it was 2 years later. OK, maybe 1 yr. I upgrade to fast for 2yr to be an issue...

But still...For most it just plain sucks.

if it makes you feel better, i paid 500 bucks for my ES quad with no fan and zero warranty (the price of early adoption) crazy, but it was fun to be first

Funny how you can buy the xeon counterpart for cheaper. And server side stuff is a lot more expensive.

OT: Lately newegg is geting nothing but thumbs down from me. There prices arent stable anymore. And by linking products and having everyone click on them, there automatic counter system will increase the price on the item until its sold out.

So i urge you guys to shop different stores and compare prices. The EGG is no longer #1 in my book.

I think I got the same message probably from the same birdie. I would of ordered the OEM if I knew that they were going to have them before the retails. They listed the retail on their site before the OEM. There goes my plans of building my new system this weekend.

I doubt it's the same bird.

He has more shipping to him tomorrow.

That's incorrect. Linking to a part that is OUT OF STOCK will still go up...LOL.

I watched the E8400 go up from 219/229/239/249/259 all in 2 weeks and they never had a stinking one of them!

But yeah, it will happen WHILE they have them too Bastards. They used to be great, but this pricing people to gouge them sucks. Can't say I blame them for trying to get every buck for their products, but I don't have to like it. I just took my money to Ewiz for one X3110 and to Excaliberpc.com for the other.

But I have a bigger complaint with them. UPS! Those ARSES ruin drives before you get them. Why they switched from Fedex by default is beyond me. IF they offer free ground, they should let me switch to free ground Fedex. I tossed a drive in my cart and got $8.50 shipping to switch to fedex. I went elsewhere. UPS is going to kill them. Look at all the ratings on any drive in the last year. There are TONS of failures on every brand. These guys haven't just started producing crap either. It's just the shipping. The least newegg coudl do is ship drives ONLY FEDEX. OR anything else that can be ruined by shipping for that matter. Memory won't be ruined, heatsink's probably not, but a hard drive being thrown from one end of the room to the other by UPS before it leaves their crappy shipping workers hands to your doorstep won't make it to you alive.

That's OEM I believe unless they are selling both for the same price. They also have the Q9300 and are giving away 2GB of OCZ memory free with purchase of the Q9300 OEM for $299.

I could have saved on shipping if I would have waited one more day. Got mine from TankGuys for the same price plus tax

And as soon as you try to add it to your cart it becomes "no longer available"...

it took a couple of days, but I just got shipping confirmation of my X3350 (Q9450 xeon) at moogr.com. 323.98 shipped oem, the retail version was 11-12 more. I used coupon code marchmadness to get that low low price(thanks guitardaddy!).

umm...do they seriously do that? increase the price when lots of people click on it? that's pretty stupid. hmm yeah that kinda puts them a bit lower in my book.

anyone got their 3350/9450 in hand yet? Whats the max oc like? Overclocking limitations should not be heat/voltage/stress related because the FSB wall will kick in around ~460-485ish. 4 x 475 = 3.8ghz still down in the green zone temperature wise. Does anyone predict speeds >3.8?

Mines still on FedEx truck for delivery. I won't get a chance to play with overclocking until later this evening. I do plan to see have far it will go but will probably stay around 3.0-3.2 for everyday use.

Why are there no reviews yet on the 9450? I would think the tech sites would have been delivered samples before the general public...

Most sites reviewed the QX9650 back in the fall - same chip, just unlocked. There isn't much new info to be had.

mark hit an fsb wall at 447 I think. I'm only shooting for 3.6 so I wouldn't be too disappointed with that, but I'll bet he's not too happy :|
