newegg rma question

My video card is acting up (sapphire 9500 pro) newegg no longer lists it for sale anymore. I purchased it a little over 2 months ago. Anyone know if they'd do an advance replacement, or even honor any sort of rma to begin with?

Just about 12 hours ahead of that response there, emailing them and sapphire directly was one of my first actions that I did, not sure if I'll see a response and need to know if I need to bribe someone for a video card loan.

if you didn't overclock it at all, go for it, they might listen. If you did overclock it, don't make newegg pay for your mistakes...

I RMA'ed a motherboard that was 3 months old and they sent me a brand new one in box.

It was a standard oem card (NOT refurb) and had not been flashed to an oc bios, sapphire replied first with my description of the problem and stated the following:


I think your card might have a bad memory chip onboard, check with your
vendor and have them help you process RMA.


That of course can have two meanings, that they want the vendors name for an rma and i ship to them (similar to msi), or they simply want me to deal with the vendor for replacement. Either way I haven't have any response from newegg as of yet.

You can look up your account on newegg and it will list what you have bought. Then you can select something to RMA if it is valid. Have you tried that? If it goes through you are golden, but if not then you will have to deal with the manufacturer.

yeah, go to newegg and click on RMA Request. Since they don't have any Sapphire 9500PRO's in stock right now, you might even be lucky enough to get a retail ATI card in return.

Think 2 months is outside of warranty for oem equipment, most is just 30 days

I have recieved replies from both sapphire and newegg on this matter, newegg wanted me to try to go through sapphire directly, and sapphire wants me to go through newegg.

sapphire did confirm that they have 9500's, but the way its going, they'd rather have me send newegg the card, newegg then sends to sapphire and gets a replacement, who then sends back to newegg, and then finally back to me, at least that's how it sounds.

My only problem with that, is it leaves me minus a video card for a good week or so.

Just RMA it to Newegg. They don't tell you this but if they don't have your card in stock THEY WON'T substitute another card for it. They'll simply refund the entire charge back to your credit card. You can then buy whatever you want.
