Not sure which forum, so please forgive me if this is the wrong one.

I just got 2 of my 3 shipments in from newegg for my "dream" rig that I ordered Monday. Ok, so my 3rd one will get here tomorrow...so much for that 3-day shipping thing, but I can overlook that...just excited I get to build it this weekend

So, I get off work at midnight tonight and rush home to open up my goodies and bask in all computer geekdom (well, as much as a 30 y.o. man can). I unpack the main box with the video card and such and have fun oooooohing and ahhhhing.

They shipped my case in the cases own box...taped up...good to go right? So i carefully peel the tape off and open the lid and then..............i see 8 thin boxes lined up inside, "hmmm....didnt know i had to assemble it...ok, no biggie...lets get to work!" I pull out one of the boxes.........."that's odd...why's it in a keyboard box?" I open up one of the 8 boxes.....and there is a logitech wired keyboard and mouse. "WTF!?!"
So yeah, theres 8 keyboards and mice inside the case box. I'm amused, yet #$%^ FURIOUS.

So, when I call them tomorrow, I'm open to serious suggestions. I'm so pissed right now...I was actually taking 1/2 a day off tomorrow to build/install the new rig, but now, I'm case-less. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr:|:disgust:

They'll fix it? Well, sure, I got ya on that...I KNOW they will. But come on...I want blood right now. I had everything planned out this wknd and they screwed that up....ideas on how to handle them when I call in the am.

I mean, come on...you spend $1,500 at a store and they bumble it up...you wouldn't be upset and want something out of it? Not to mention a 1/2 day of vacation that I'm 'wasting'....

I mean, come on fellas...I've been doing 2 weeks of research on building this thing, hemming and hawwwing over which PSU to buy and such...

Then I finally take the plunge and buy it. I do it on Monday so that I have the entire following weekend to build it and OC it and generally play and have fun.

Now that is not going to happen. You wouldn't be the least bit put-out and seriously bummed/pissed?

I expected a more understanding crowd here...or at least some suggestions on how to handle it when I call tomorrow.

And yes, I understand that the person on the other end of the line is not at fault

The way to handle it is calmly and politely.

The person you plan to call and yell at is not the one who packed your order. This person is also not the manager of the person who packed your order.

The person who you will talk to is a customer service person who starts out wanting to help you. If you flame, vent, rant and act like a jerk to this person their desire to help you will become much weaker and might even change to a desire to see you continue to suffer.

Don't be stupid, be nice to the CSR.

Because we have been there, wanted blood, and cooled off. In the end, getting pissed at them, and expressing it, isn't going to get your sh!t there any quicker. Have a beer, take pics, plan out your next steps, and enjoy it.

You are 100% right. I have been in CS before. I do not plan on blasting away at the CSR. Thanks for the voice of reason, nonetheless.

BUT, I do expect some sort of compensation for them blasting my wknd.

I do understand, FedEx delivered one $1500 newegg order of mine to a completely different building a few years back, then picked it up from there and lost it.

Newegg got me a replacement shipment, and when the original order was finally found and delivered to me weeks later newegg arranged and paid for the pickup of it.

None of it was newegg's fault (Fedex driver screwed up) but they fixed it.

It was frustrating having to wait a few extra days for my parts, but not nearly as frustrating as it could have been (they could have made me wait for Fedex to settle a claim, or charged my CC a second time for the replacement shipment).

i hear ya. It was not their fault, so kudos for them doing that for you. But this was 100% their mistake...just really bummed fellas.

One wonders what kind of goodies I might could squeeze out of this though...I figure they owe me something for their mistake.

You can still put it together without the case, it'll just be a bit ghetto looking.

That will be their choice entirely. Newegg treats people right, but don't expect them to give you freebies. It's not their job.

But good customer service IS their job. I paid $1500 for items and they, or at least someone at their warehouse, messed up.

They blew up my plans for the weekend. These are all things that are their fault. I do expect some sort of compensation for them "ruining" my plans.

Look, I'm not gold-digging or what not. Hell, I just want my case. But, seeing as they have kept me from doing what I had planned, due to them not being thorough, yes, good customer service will compensate for that, me thinks.

Had I not gotten 8 keyboards and mice shipped to me instead of what I paid for, this thread would be nothing but "Woohoo, got my monster rig parts...time to get building! Yay newegg" :/

Mine would have been "Fvck, I have to wait. But I get to op test / review some keyboards and mice." I gave you the benefit of the doubt of venting and all, but this whole "I'm NewEggs only customer" stuff has got to go. Yeah, it sucks, but how many customers do they have, and how many people do you think have purchases over $1500? Come on. I feel ya, but that is a bit crazy...

You're right...just pissed.

And it'd be one thing if they were really nice keyboards and mice, but they are basic WIRED ones out:

C'est la vie, right? So, c'est la vie it is.

Thanks for cooling me off fellas. Just bummed. :sigh:

Tell them what you want. Ask them for your order to be delivered overnight, so you can get it Saturday or the earliest Monday.
Wow, you are right to be pissed, what major screwup.
Good luck!

Typical case(no pun intended) of "****** happens".
Yeah we all love it when a package with our latest and greatest nerd trophys arrive, but once in a while stuff will get screwed up, that's just the way the world works.

Oh and just because you planned to do xyz this weekend doesn't oblige them to do you any favours.
They were supposed to deliver a package(or rather, have someone else deliver it), not cheer up your weekend.
