price drop means that the manufactuers retail price has dropped, it is usually in every store, it is instant because it is a new price

I had some problems getting the Blackout buster rebate last thyme it was 50 dollars. They took several months to get it to us, and that was after calling twice. Make sure you track that one.

fyi, the fuji's should be "made in japan"; therefore taiyo yuden. i have 2 packs that i bought few months ago from circuit city. it's a common sale for those 50pk 800mb cdrs. excellent stuff.

Nothing much else caught my eye, some decent software deals and some free stuff as well.

check this for the free maxtor controller card. Maxtor Rebate looks as though compusa isnt very special. Now all i gota do is see if staples caries the maxtor card. Then i'll have a 30 gig, business attache, 32mb pc-100, canon mp3 AND a ata100 controller for $110 with tax after rebate. Yippee

After 5 it would have to come seperate, which wont do because the rebate says it needs the same receite for both purchases. Oh well. And by the way, staples does carry the maxtor controller. according to the post on "Best Buy and Circuit City 1/21/2001 - 1/28/2001 ", Circuit City will be selling the 30GB HDD cheaper than CompUSA, not sure if it's the same model number as CompUSA though.

Wrong. Two receipts *are* fine, and qualify for the rebate. (I sent a previous Maxtor rebate in w/two receipts, and my rebate came.)

So I wouldn't worry about it too much.
