Chubb is very good, but I also mentioned this to myself several times: where the hell is GB filling gaps? Nobody anywhere, even off of the nice blocking from the Browns...it's like, they are always running this play, so how do you not adjust by the 2nd half? Championship defenses need to be able to adapt within games.
What I found curious was why the Browns even called for a pass play at that point in time, you've got 2:00 to play, they had all 3 time out's, the GB had no answer for the ground game and need only a FG to win it and have a 1st down mid field, keep feeding Chubb until they can stop him.

I agree with you, but it's a pass first league, especially in the 4th quarter. You run it, you're taking time off the clock and risking a holding penalty. Pass and you have a good chance of getting a flag (which they should have gotten) in today's NFL. I think OC's are conditioned to pass with under 10 minutes left if you're losing.

Onto more important things... big game today for the Patriots. I am up in MA for Christmas so get to watch the game with my brother which is a nice change.

it's bizarre to me how everyone in cleveland can be so optimistic for the browns

people were predicting a 13-4 season or something like that... i never expect ANY better than a .500 record

the browns cannot overcome obstacles like other teams. they will never be able to. disappointment is inevitable.

the only way this team will ever win the super bowl is if it gets moved to another city (see: baltimore ravens 4 years after they moved from cleveland)

Yea, I'll be watching that one too, huge game for both teams, Pats then have the Jags at home then the Dolphins in Miami, the Fins have always played us tough as hell in Miami, even when we had Brady we often lost down there.

Really, if I was a Browns fan I'd be a bit optimistic after yesterdays showing, yes, they lost, but only because on that last INT the GB defender blatantly grabbed the Browns receiver and prevented him from getting to the ball. Cleveland has many niece pieces and if they can get Mayfeild from throwing a lot of picks they can pay with anyone.

Biggest problem the Browns have IMO lies with the folks calling the plays.... the Packers really tried hard to "gift" the game to Cleveland yesterday.

Frankly if it hadn't been for the unsigned GB players in the vertically black and white striped jerseys they likely would have too. I'm not sure when the NFL will realize that they're only shooting themselves in the foot by allowing these obviously biased "homer" calls to decide games. NFL officiating MUST be above reproach.... NOTHING is more important then "getting it right".

These rocket-scientists will EVENTUALLY have to figure out that you CANNOT manufacture a "legendary matchup" game, it has to happen on its own. Even the suspicion of "the fix being in" will cost the league many millions of dollars in gambling revenue since most folks won't wager on unfair contests. (or contests with that appearance at least)

If the league doesn't directly address this problem soon enough the NFL will go the way of phony "scripted sports" like pro wrestling which would be a travesty.

Been watching the Giants-Eagles game on my phone while working on my desktop. What a comedy of errors of two terrible teams lol

Pretty smart the Bills not kicking the FG and coming away EMPTY.

Analytics is literally the bane of winning.... how about freaking "ANALYZING" the fact that now a NE FG puts them up effectively by a TD instead of 1 point?!? Morons.

(note the number of time Belichick for example goes for it on 4th or for 2 point conversions hasn't changed at all based on this trendy-a$$ bull$hit)

Every time you complain about teams going for 2 or going for it on 4th or being aggressive in even the least possible way, I completely disagree with you. You like boring ass football.

I could have sworn the idea was to actually "win" the football game not make fancy plays to entertain.

I like WINNING football.

Silly me.... the NFL needs to switch to "participation" trophies maybe?

If you like winning football, then again you should like aggressive playcalling. But in reality, that's a lie. You like boring football. It's okay to admit it.

I'd rather win 7-0 then lose 58-51 in OT so in that sense you better believe it.

After 50+ years of watching football I understand the game thoroughly.

Mac Jones has made some errant throws today but if the Pats want to make this a game in the 2nd half the drops have to stop. Not thrilled as to why that out of bounds hit on Jones was picked up, it was clearly legit.

All I've got is maybe they gave credit for trying to hold him up?

Not sure how that fits with NFL rules but it should have been a penalty pretty clearly IMO.

Having said that NE has been on the winning side of SO MANY questionable calls/non-calls over the years I have little sympathy.

EDIT: A FG here with a successful FG earlier would have made it a 2+ score game.

Coming after they called a bad roughing the passer penalty on third down that should have given the Bills with 90 seconds to go. And then there's the mugging of Diggs in the endzone that wasn't called. Oh, and the phantom ineligible man downfield on Buffalo that nullified a TD.

Pats need to sustain a drive and score here or I think it's over, defense has been out there way too long
and dealing with a QB like Allen has to be exhausting, even when he's flushed he makes crazy good throws,

The diggs is legit but they clearly showed contact to Jones's helmet, you can't do that and that O-lineman was clearly
way past the LOS.

You're right on the ineligible man. He was past 1 yard (in my head it was 5, my bad) and kept moving toward his blocker after losing contact. The contact on Jones happens to Allen all the time and is never called.

Really, with the way Allen is playing today the Pat's look overmatched, you flush him and he just burns you.
