THE MODANO PLOT THICKENS
They were celebrating in Dallas. The scouts were informing each other, the staff was being told it was done...and now..all is silent...something is up, and I am being told it is not done. Boston may have upped the ante. Stay tuned! This is why these days can be great!

NY Rangers are being very quiet... come on rangers do something...
I think they are waiting for Jagr to make a decision as to whether he wants to stay or not.
he's skilled when he wants to be. Otherwise his lackluster effort is very frustrating. I watched every shift of his in Washington for a couple years. Even playing with Oates, Bondra, Gonchar, and Lang, he was unmotivated at times. I do remember, after being reamed by the press, he led a 12-2 beating to the Panthers the next night and Jagr was a machine. Hat Trick early on and assists out his @$$. He plays when he wants to - very inconsistent. There are players who will offer a lot more, more often. He's top 90% these days, not 98% in my opinion. NYC hasn't changed that from what I saw last year.Originally posted by: Rudee

What exactly are you saying? Jagr had a good season with the Rangers. They'd like to keep him. He's might continue his career in Europe. He's still a better hockey player then 98% of the players out there right now.
Really? You think so? Sure, he has flashes of the greatness he used have, but you really think he is better than 98% of hockey players out there? Really?
Maybe it's just the rangers, but it seems like ever since he went there he doesn't play with any passion anymore..
Just my .02.
I definitely think he is better then 98% of the NHL'ers out there. I've followed his career since he came into the league. I've seen him play live many times. Any team would be excited to have him. They may not like his mood swings, but he is certainly skilled.

Any word on where Scott Niedermayer is going? I sounds like the Devils are definitely not going to keep him.
On ESPN, they were saying that he may want to go to Anaheim(?) to play with his bro.
LATE NIGHT CRAZINESS
Can we ever go to sleep?
Modano could be tied up tonight or tomorrow morning...there are now three teams involved...Boston, Dallas, and another...and all I know of the other is it is NOT Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh is very much in the Neidermayer hunt.
Boston will get into the Forsberg hunt immediately should they lose out on Modano.
The Rangers are also very hot on Forsberg.
Satan will be resolved in the next 24 hours. Montreal, Chicago, and LA have been bidding all night, but I have it on a VERY solid source that in the past few hours the Leafs have come to the table saying they will beat anyone's offer....
