Doubtful, Theodore is a proven goalkeeper and with Koivu they are the backbone of the team. They don't even have a definite back up yet, and I don't think that Price is coming straight to the NHL.

Prucek is available. He was better then Lalime as a backup.

Me im pissed about BG for my team( the Habs )

1)Current offer to Forsberg 5.4 mil for 2y
2)Current offer to Kovalev 4.5 mil for FOUR year.

I think BG just did an HORRIBLE MISTAKE in a panic move to please the fans...not the team.

I really think BG was in the run to get Forsberg, but something happen and Forsberg finally never sign with Montreal.So in a rush he sign Kovalev to a big deal ( four years! ).So at 36 years old, Kovalev ill be a 4.5 millions player....wtf BG...At 36 Kovalev will have difficulty to get 20 goals in.And to try to hide all that crap,you also sign Dandenault, who you never contact before this morning....

Montreal aprox cap atm WITH Kovalev is now, considering last year salary for RFA Theodore,Koivu,Komisarek,Markov etc is aprox 32 millions.Koivu and Theo will get a little raise imo so add to their curent salaries a total of maximum 3 millions.So montreal is at 35 millions cap( max is 39)

BG was not able to propose to Forsberg a 2/3 year deal at 6 m per year???I just dont understand really

For a mere 900k....he choose Kovalev rather than Forsberg...

What happen bob...what happen??

The leafs basically screwed themselves in the past few years by signing aging guys to big contracts. Now they're stuck with them, and can't trade them as no other team will want to take those contracts over. Can't sign many new guys because of the cap either.

Don't know if that was directed towards me...but since being screwed in the playoffs against Dallas years ago...they have had nothing but bad luck. Hasik...although I dont blame him...left got his share of a cup. Just a lot of nothing going on..

stats ... he's as good as goal scorers get without being superstars... not to mention the fact that he hasn't played with any.

Look I'm pissed off too, but listen Bob is one of the best general managers in the league, he promised to make this team a power house but it's going to take from now to 2009. I really thought that Bob was going to bring a power defensemen to the team but Dandenault!!!! oh well. Kovalev is one of the top 15 best players in the league, I'm happy that we sign him to a four years contract, I don?t think Forsberg would had choosing Montreal over Philadelphia.
