The bar wouldn't stop a stick from going into the face.
Full cage helmets.
Probably a cowboy collar type of device around the neck, similar to what a lineman wears in football.

This would definitely cut down on injuries, but vision would probably be reduced a lot.

The top half could be the plexiglass visor like most players have now.

I just think the "1 bar" like NFL kickers have, should be a minumum, with players opting to have larger cages (with vertical bars spaced closely enough to prevent getting the end of a stick in the mouth) if they please.

Word on the street is that all of Detroit’s woes stem from the city trying to divide the number of Red Wings Cup wins by Lions Super Bowl appearances. The subsequent chaos from Detroit attempting to divide by zero has sent the city into an epic spiral from which they are only now beginning to recover.

I'm still recovering from the game last night - I got tanked at the Tank

Any word on what happened to Ian White?

Haha, spending as much on a single Marzen as you would a 6-pack down the street in Santa Clara. I usually hit up the wagon beforehand and drink down a couple of the mega-sized beers to be set for most of the evening.

I was at Gordon Biersch for a couple of hours before the game, and not sure how many I had there. During the game I had a normal beer for the first three periods, and was pretty buzzed during the OT. I guess I'm kind of a light weight :awe:

I read that McLellan said if game 2 was tonight, then White would be definitely be out. I doubt that he'd be back tomorrow. It's looking like Huskins (if healthy enough) or Braun will be in.

Anyone else watching the Penguins-Lightning game? Did one of the Penguins just head-butt the puck from behind the net in an attempt to pass it in front?

Edit: Just showed the replay, yes he did (Dupuis)

I wish I didn't have to watch this game with the Penguins' terrible announcers.

Be lucky you got a channel with the penguins playing, I wish I had one. Well looking at the score, maybe its for the best.

Versus was showing the Caps game here, but I was able to watch parts of the Pens game on "NHL on the fly". It's a decent backup when most channels are covering basketball.

From the parts I did see, it looked as though Tampa's offense was playing very smart, moving the puck in and around Pitt's D.

I couldn't really tell if Pitt's D was jsimply getting outplayed, or that they didnt have the aggresiveness they usually have. Either way, Flower pot wasn't doing much to help them out.

That was some bs waving off that preds goal. The puck was already past him when contact occurred. Blah.

Shit from his last few interviews it sounds like he has already retired in his mind.
It's too bad, his game was starting to come around when he got hurt. He was never going to play more than 8-10 minutes a game in the playoffs, but he still had a decent scoring touch. Now, without having the time to get his game in order, especially defensively, he just would be too big of a gamble. Babcock showed a lot of leadership by sitting him and not letting emotions get in the way, considering Babcock probably did as much as anybody to sign him away from retiring.
