I know Sony had one for a while, but it was discovered that if you used it in daylight, you could see through people's clothing and see their underwear (kinda like James Bond's glasses that he uses to look for weapons) so they stopped selling it.

does that just plug right into your tv? is that an s-video cable and an rca video cable? im confused.

To me this doesn't look any different than any other B&W camera. All of them I've used will work well with IR lighting to "see" in the dark. It will only pickup things that are "lit" by the IR lighting that you are using, and in most cases the distance is limited.

Ok, some quick and dirty answers. You are looking at 2 RCA male plugs. Red goes to the red (audio) female RCA connector on your TV/VCR and the yellow one to the video in RCA plug of TV/VCR. It is a black and white "board camera" of unknown quality in a housing with 6 IR (Infared) LED's (think light you can't see very well, but the camera can see) to boost the IR capability that all board camera have to some degree. Actually, most camcorders have a filter to block the IR. Sony realized that by moving the filter in front of, or away from the camera pickup, and then boosting the output, they can have "night vision". This camera will not let you see someone's "front's closed, deliveries in the back" tatoo under their white jeans like the early and some later Sony camcorder will. Remember you get what you pay for. If you want to be $29.95 happy, this is the one to get. If you want to be twice as happy with the results, search EBay and spend more for a camera where they will tell you what the number of scan lines and the lux level is.

Hey Yellow you posted the other day saying you had an IBM M1 Carbine right? I picked one up the other day (Receiver/barrel and most parts IBM, typical rearsenal). Great little thing Had a post in OT about it with pics.

Very VERY old news. They've all been replaced. Was back in the late 90s or so.

im pretty sure by looking at the price that this camera will not see over 10' in total darkness.
and if you see anything that the picture is not gonna be the best quality.
