no 1680x1050 on ATI

I disconnected my Monitor, a Dell 20 inch 2005FPW, and after reconnecting I tried to adjust resolution in ATI Catalyst control center. There is no 1680x1050 listed. Under Desktop area there is 1440x900 maximum. The video card is ATI 2600XT. The display is listed as "Default VGA monitor [Extended]. In control panel under monitor is "Generic-non PNP monitor" The drivers for the video card are the latest, and I don't recall loading any drivers for the monitor when I installed it. I went to Dell's site and no Vista drivers are listed for the 2005FPW, but as I said it was working before I disconnected with Vista.
Any ideas?

Go to Display setting and advanced settings then monitor and uncheck the box that says "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display" and then you should be able to set it to what you want (this is the brute force way).

Also you maybe able to go to device manager and change the driver for the monitor to Generic PNP Monitor and it should allow you to set it to the way you want.
