Sad thing is that 20-30 years ago you would never have to say anything because parents actually parented. You know, back when parents taught their children how to act, taught them discipline, taught them consequences, and had actual expectations from their children. The world really is turning to crap.

I actually fear having kids. I can just see my kid telling a teacher or someone that I spanked him and then I'd end up going to jail because of all the effeminate people who are making those stupid laws now.Originally posted by: Ronstang
Whatever....kids are worse today than imaginable and parents just don't put any effort into cotrolling them in public. Perfect example was tonight at the baseball game. The little brat right in front of me would not sit in his seat and would not shut the hell up. I kept having to shift in my seat to see the damn game. He was running around, jumping, making noise....and not once did his parents say anything to him or make any attempt to control him. I wanted to pick him up and throw his ass over the railing. This would not have happened 30 years ago. Parents still did their job back then instead of blaming all their kid's behavioral problems on ADHD and keeping their kids drugged up so they don't have to take any responsibility for how bad their children are turning out......remember....junior has a condition.
So...you are making a sweeping generalizations about all parents in a gneration because you've seen some kids acting badly? If that kid was really drugged he wouldn't have been acting that way. I agree parents need to be more responsible and take a greater role in disciplining their kids, however making references to the good old days is a reflex action every generation takes as it ages. Just my opinion.Originally posted by: Ronstang

Adults who were overly disciplined as children often display a lack of emotional control as well as the tendency to make sweeping generalizations based on their own stilted perceptions.

I am not making sweeping generalizations from a single event. I am 43 years old. I see kids EVERY day that act like little brats. They are everywhere you go and along with them are their lazy non-disciplining parents. Tonight was an example only. This has nothing to do with the "good old days". This has to do with poeple being to damned lazy to live up to their responsibilities and society's degradation to the point that it does not hold anyone to any standards anymore. I am not whining. I have witnessed the decay of society my entire life. It has been worse over the last 15 years. Hell, you can't even get kids to move out of the street anymore when you are in your car....they expect you to go around them.
