If you're still able to play without problems after the Steam patch you're lucky. The thread at 2k indicates that several people are having screen corruption issues.

I'm in the medical pavillion now. This game definitely has tons of atmosphere and really gets you interested in the story.

I'm literally scared to walk my character around the next corner or to open the next door! lol

I was in the dentist area and apparently it must freeze you or something. The screen gets all cloudy with like steam or something and then something changes in the room. The first a i heard running and when it cleared, there was a corpse on the examining table/chair.

Second time it happened i didn't see any changes until i turned around and there was a splicer doctor right behind me! scared the shit out of me!

I'm confused about 2 things though. I got the electricity plasmid and the fire plasmid. I then found the telekinesis plasmid. i onyl had 2 slots open so I replaced the fire with the telekinesis. I can't see a way to get it back. is it gone forever or would i get it again later or what?

the other question is about tonics. I got a slow hack tonic and placed it. I then got a upper body strength type tonic and when I placed that, the slow hack tonic was gone. are these one time use things or what?

I think tonics are one time use, but the plasmids are stored in thse vending machine things called "gene pools" Theyre around the game a little later. You can change plasmids with the machines.

Did you hack the big guns instead of destroying them ? This is around the time I always crash. Though last time I crashed a lot further in after fighting the flying guns instead.

There are 3 tonic categories - physical, engineering and combat. The placement screen that comes up is dependent upon category. It threw me off at first too. As noted, you'll be able to review/change them all once you get to a Gene Bank (but you can swap out tonics as well as plasmids). You can also equip multiple copies of something for enhanced effect.

The whole system is another carryover from SS2, in a way - you have physical (stats), engineering (tech), plasmids (psi), and combat (combat).

No because I tried playing Half Life 2 and Lost planet just now and they work fine. I decided not to hack the big guns this time and just blow them up. No freezing at all or crashes.

I have been fighting big daddies a few times now and the sound always goes dead in the heat of the battle with them,pretty sure its a bug,restarting the game after killing them fixes it but annoying.

Wow I am shocked! I was finally able to play Bioshock for more than 30 minutes without it crashing! Now I don't know where to go but glad I fixed the crashing issue so far it seems. I still think it has issues though just being very careful not to make the game angry at me. Has a lot of bugs.

The gameplay and the storyline is excellent but like many people said the bad outweighs the good.

Takes a lot to crash Vista x64 on my PC,sound justs goes dead in Bioshock like I posted above, but stability is still excellent.

I don't overclock ,only my 7800GT is overclocked and that's a factory OC too.

I am on Windows Vista x64 as well and I do not overclock either. Its Bioshock because Half 2 and Lost Planet worked fine. If they didn't then I would of known it was a overheating problem.

Am I the only person who is having absolutely no issues with the game?
C2D E6600, Radeon x1950Pro, no graphical glitches, no sound problems, no crashing, no performance issues.

It runs well on high settings. It's really awesome; definitely the most atmospheric game I've ever played, and the audio work is incredible.
