No More Newegg Purchase

That's it I had it with Newegg!

I ordered EVGA GTX 780 yesterday afternoon, and it wasn't shipped out until today.
On top of that they shipped it VIA Fedex SmartPost!

I call customer service spoke to a supervise and all he keep telling me is that was my choice. WTF, I wasn't ordering a $9.99 usb pendrive with free shipping, I order a $659 video card and they charged $3.99 for shipping.

This is my last purchase from them, Newegg has become one arrogant company with lousy customer support!

I just tried mostly buying a different one, and the default shipping was the $3.99 saver. Just like with Amazon's free shipping, you get what you pay for, and it has nothing to do with the product itself. They have a more expensive shipping option that will be plain old ground, every time.

When I ordered my PC, the case came within 4 days. It took 2 weeks for the rest of my PC parts to arrive! Newegg puts huge price tags on things that you can get elsewhere, such as Amazon or TigerDirect. Now, I use PCPartPicker for all my builds now, it finds the lowest price possible, very rarely PPP choses Newegg as the cheapest seller for a part! Going to Micro Center will show you how expensive NE's parts are. At the MC in Patterson, NJ (IDK about other MCs) has a huge chalkboard that compares their prices on popular items to NE's prices, most of the time they're $30-$40 more expensive on NE than MC, while MC still is able to make a profit at the end of each day! I have Prime 2 day shipping, so I usually buy parts from Amazon, not just because of that but I think Amazon has good prices compared to other sites. Amazon even uses sites like TigerDirect for parts they don't have! I hate NE and I hope others understand why.

If you don't read the shipping options when ordering are you going to create a thread for everything you order online because the same will happen at other sites. BTW, Newegg's margins average 6% so they are going to charge you shipping.

Seems like Amazon is the perfect fit for you. They default to standard shipping and not free Super Saver Shipping, thereby letting you skip looking at the little buttons to make sure which option is selected.

Next time you complain about shipping you should take a similar item into the UPS Store or Fedex and see how much it costs you to ship it to them. Usually it's the weight and size of the item being shipped, not the price, that dictates shipping fees. I've always been surprised about how much free shipping Newegg actually does, as it cuts into their bottom line.

I can definitely throw some criticisms at Newegg in recent years for different reasons (hard drive packaging especially), but if you're telling me that shipping it out the very next business day with shipping preferences you selected is grounds for complaint, I disagree. That's still above average for an internet based company. If you wanted faster shipping, you should have read more carefully and realized that everything comes with a cost.

Personally I don't think you would have been happy unless they overnighted it for free. You just want your new toy and you want it now.

Newegg's cost is probably a fraction of the price a UPS (FedEx works same way) store gives you. By default any company with a shipping account gets a discount off the "retail" prices that a UPS store gives. If volume is great enough, shippers may compete for the business by offering even lower rates.

i stopped ordering from the egg a while ago.

they have this bs shipping option which fedex comes holds on it for a day.. then mails it by USPS.. which takes another 3 days for what normally would take 1 day from fedex or usps direct.

So yes OP i feel you because they pulled it on me too..

no were pissed that someone at newegg thought it would be smart to have fedex mail it USPS.
WTF is FEDEX? a USPS drop off service? that automatically extends your package a extra day or 2... only to be handled by a worse mail company.. USPS...

Theres a reason why i dont mail out big packages USPS.

Its like asking your car service dealor at Infinity to take your car to Nissan to get it serviced while extending the service time.

I'm not happy with newegg's s/h lately either. Back in the day they packaged stuff well and I usually received my items in 3 days after they shipped.
Nowadays it seems they have really skimped on packaging materials.

My current order with them was shipped 5/28 via the free option FedEx Smartpost and the most recent tracking info says it has arrived at my local US postal facility and to allow 1 to 2 additional business days for delivery.
