No Power!!!!

I received all my parts this week to upgrade my old PII 266mz to a AMD Duron 800 and KT7A mobo. I ordered a new 300W AMD approved power supply and decided to install it first to get it out of the way and finish up this weekend installing the mobo. After replacing the PS the system failed to show any signs of life. Thinking maybe the PS was bad I put back in the old PS. Everything is still dead! What should I look for? Any help is appreciated. :frown:

Try to ground the green wire in the ATX connector, this should fire up the PS ( remove from system b4)

Look for something shorting out the mobo, and unplug the reset switch connector from the mobo.

do you hear the power supply hum or anything? often a sign that the power supply is "crowbarring" is that when you turn on the power, the supply hums, but the computer does nothing else...the only way to troubleshoot this is to unplug EVERYTHING from the power supply and slowly put everything back 1 at a time...for instance, i've had instances where the floppy drive has been the culprit, and simply unplugging the floppy drive from the power supply allows everything to work fine.

but i agree with USUL, connect the green wire to any of the 4 black wires on the main power connector from the PSU and see if it powers on...from there, you should troubleshoot as i mentioned above.
