No signal on monitor

Well i just moved from one place to another and have ran into a rather odd problem. I use a dual monitor setup normally with a dell 19" widescreen and an Acer 19" LCD both hooked up via DVI cable. It had been working awesome at my old place but now neither monitor works. I habe tried them individually as well as putting them in dual hookup. no matter what the monitors always get no signal. I hooked them both up to this computer (via an old radeon 9600) and they work just fine.

my computer is (or revelvant parts)

Asus A8N premium
XFX 7900GTX
2gigs of ram (2 1gig sticks)

i did change from the stock AMD heatsink to a Ultima-90 with 120mm fan but that shouldnt matter I don't think.

I have tried switching out the 7900gtx with a brand new out of the box 8600gt and recieved the same no signal on the monitors. Both cards the fan starts up and stay on as well.

i also tried taking out 1 stick of ram but that accomplished nothing.

Thanks for any idea's. This is really frustrating seeing as i basically turned off my pc and moved it and now the monitors won't recieve a signal.

no. there are no beeps or anything. the computer itself seems to boot up just fine. however the monitors display nothing and even turning them on after the computer has been turned on yields the same No Signal message.

as i stated i already tried another video card with zero luck. As for different cables i did try using a vga cable with a dvi-to-vga adapter but that yielded the same problem. Also i tried switching around the two dvi cables from the dell and acer with no luck. tried all possible connections via cables really. Same resualts when i switched to the 8600gt

This sounds similiar to what happened to me last night - but it occured after a freeze and reboot.

Did you ever figure anything out?

Well I eventually got the system to reboot after resetting the CMOS and trying various sticks of RAM until I posted.

Then I bumped my RAM Voltage to manufacturer's recommendation (2.1) and added the second stick of Firestix. After about a week I bumped it to 2.2V and added in the two Ballistix.

Everything was running well again until last night, I started noticing some graphical errors while playing EQ so instead of leaving the computer on all night I shut it down. Waking up this morning I have the same problem.

I guess I'll do the same thing till I can get it to post, but does anyone have any idea what the underlying problem could be? I'll be sure to memtest once I get it back up again - but other than bad Ram Im at a loss.

Thanks,

try running it with just either the crucual or the buffalo ram for a while and see.

get "PC Wizard" and post the temp and voltage readings.

Well right now I cant seem to get it to post using either type of ram, Ive tried one at a time and in pairs using different slots.

If I try to start with just one stick in slot 1 I get a series of short beeps (manual says power error) until it turns itself off (on/off loop every few seconds)

If I try one stick in any other slot I just get one long beep (dram error) until it turns itself off again (loops).

Last time this happened (Jan 18) I ended up taking the whole thing apart and putting it back together and eventually it started, and I bumped the ram voltage in BIOS before adding the rest back in and it worked fine till last night.

Do you think I have a short somewhere?

I just realized, has the OP reseated the video card? has the OP verified that both monitors are getting sufficient power, and is the computer getting enough power.
