So, I just built my friend this new rig, out of parts that I was using previously, and we got everything together:...no video signal to the monitor. I have checked everything, taken stuff out, put it back in, and I don't know. Everything was working fine a couple weeks ago (has not been used since). Everything comes on, the fans power up, everything seems right inside, just no signal. Tested monitor on another comp, works fine. Tested vid card, also works fine. No beeps. Motherboard and proc were in working condition a few weeks prior, hard drive is brand new, and I would still be able to see a post. The only thing I can think of is that a tiny bit of arctic silver got onto the motherboard, but it was easily cleaned away. What I am wondering is if that would be bridging something, even if I can't see the actual stuff (it looks clean, but I did not use alcohol or anything). Would it be safe to try cleaning the spot with Isopropyl alcohol on the actual MB? If anyone has any insight, please, help me out.
