I have been told many things and this is what I have come to believe is the correct order of operations
my system specs are, gigabyte k8ns main board, athlon 64 3000, Win XP, and soon Western Digital 120 gig Sata hd. I dont think anthing else is relavent.
1 Set boot to cdrom is bios
2 set Sata drive to 2nd boot
3rd put windows xp in cdrom
4th turn off comp and uninstall old pata drive
5th install new sata drive with WD secure connect
6th restart comp if windows recognises hd just keep going with windows
if not then press f6 to install drivers from WD boot disk
7th go along for windows ride and when done shutdown to switch to sata as 1st boot
8th enjoy installing motherboard drivers and updating all the rest of hardware drivers.
9th anything I missed?
Thank you whom ever helps me out here.
