damnit... i turn on MTv and what do i see..?? a dashboard confessional video for screaming infidelities.... and to top it off, MTv is using the song for one of their stupid tv "movies"

Emo Craze? have you even heard any music besides JEW that constitutes as emo? enough... jeez.

ever hear of the Weakerthans? Anniversary? Get Up Kids? Ataris?

It can be hard to watch one of your favorite bands get bigger. I have been through it tons of times.

The best thing you can do is be happy for them. They are a good band and deserve some exposure/recognition/money.

this craze??? hmmm i've been listening to punk (mostly emo) for over 5 years now... i can see how MTv is trying to make it a craze... but i don't think it's the 14 year old girl thing right now

LOL... I'm so lame, when I saw the title I thought of 'Taxi Cab Confessions' on HBO. I miss that now that I don't get HBO... I was hoping I'd get to see some of the freaks on MTV, although it would be toned down.

MMB started a craze, if you didnt notice, they were the forefathers of what became the swing craze. its Jimmy Eat World, New Found Glory, Dashboard Confessional, all in the span of a few months. This will not be the end, either. There will be more. I'm glad i dont listen to the radio

Yes I have heard them. What I meant was I'm sick of MTV cashing in on this trend. At The Drive In will be big soon too. There are just going to be more and more emo bands being played on MTV. I guess it's better than pop sh!t, but I still won't watch that damned channel. Evrything on it is an ad.

I would rather see MTV play videos and music by bands who write their own songs and play instruments, but we all know that will never happen.

The part about this that gets to me is that they threw in a relatively crappy rhythm section as an afterthought, and it sounds terrible. Dashboard was cool in the first place soley because it was just a guy and a guitar, who put out a couple damn decent albums. The other day when I heard it on the commercial station, the tempo was jacked and the other instruments detracted from the ambience of the song, IMHO.

lol @ people who are sick of this emo craze. when i start hearing emo music on the radio i'll be happy! cuz then i can start listening to the radio again. PLEASE, who's sick of this pop/boyband music craze? at least bands who are actually talented are getting airplay. and seriously, emo is not even THAT big. and i guarantee that the majority of the emo genre won't be. it's an acquired taste and half of that genre are bands that started in garage and aren't even that great. only a few actually break through and make good music. and i would bet that the majority of people don't even know what emo is let alone warrant people actually getting sick of "this emo craze" heheh. unless u are the type to hang out with those indie/pop/emo kids and in that case, why are u hanging around them then?

the only downside reallly is seeing htem in concert and hiked up prices etc. other than that i'm happy for them.

hmmm. DC and JEW are hardly pioneers to the "emo" scene. I really don't care that they are gone. I spoke with Jim Aktins From JEW about 6 years ago, he said he'd rather be the new radiohead than the next sunny day real estate.

my suggestion: Q and not U. unbelieveable musicianship/tightness.
