2 mornings ago at about 6AM, I heard bomb sirens go off (I'm in Taipei). Needless to say, I thought China sent some missiles and was expected to hear explosions.

Then today my friend told me about the N. Korean incident as mentioned. I sure as hell got scared for nothing

My predictions?

Some beer-bellied nerd with a bad hair cut will get to thumb his nose at the US. His country will think he's a hero. The rest of the world will roll their eyes.





If he DOES actually fire off a nuke... North Korea will turn into an ugly, greasy stain on the world atlas.

It was on CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, local stations, etc. All the major news networks were covering the story. :roll:


Its saber rattling and posturing. Kim Jong is a nut job and wanted to remind the world that NK is still trying to develop nukes while the world's attention was more focused on Iran.

He's hoping we'll try pay him off again. The US gave him 5 billion USD and two nuclear reactors in 1994, I believe. The CNN newsticker wasn't too specific on the type of reactor though.

air raid sirens at 6AM? I remember hearing those when I was there but 6AM? dang!



Worst case scenario: we nuke North Korea....all of it..
Best case scenario: 2 months from now we've all forgotten about it.

I'm travelling to S. Korea to visit family at the end of this month. Some people got pretty worked up and said if i'm really going and if it'll be ok. For now, the media seems to be overreacting. I hope everyone will do the right thing and settle it by other means, well, at least until I come back to the US in August

north korea will develop missles. they will test them. united states will get threatened around the same time the un sanctions north korea, inspects, them, and somehow gives them permission to have them. us (my country btw) will still have bush in office at this time. this is where the road will split.

US long range missles are ICBM's(der!) they would pretty much reach anywhere in the world.
