So I’ve been looking around for a cool case for a Ryzen build. Sick of black cases and not that enthused with white.
Found a Corsair Carbide Series 540 case. The 5.25 bays slots give it a dated look so I'm going to install a Matrix Orbital 7 inch 1024x600 IPS TFT Display in that space to give it a more modern look.

Gigabyte X570 Aorus Ultra motherboard
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8 core
AMD Radeon 6750XT
Samsung 980 Pro PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2
Seagate 3TB HDD SATA 6Gb/s 7200 64MB Cache
EVGA 1000 P2
Corsair 120mm & 140mm RGB fans
CPU cooling AURAFLOW X 360
GPU Cooling Kraken X53 with G12

On a pause why I wait on a couple of items.
Some input, suggestions please?
The
Two plastic case pieces are a satin black they have black grills/mesh mounted on the back side of them.
Was thinking about painting the plastic ribs the metallic silver to match the rest of case and leaving grills black. Or ribs black and grills/mesh silver
What say you??

Depends how much you want the silver to be broken up. If you paint the ribs, the whole case will be silver, with the vents to accent. If you paint just the grills, you will have the black ribs to break up the silver. I think painting the grills only would look better, but thats just my opinion.

Liking the contrast, Silver cases have always stood out for me as a really Clean look since the LianLi Aluminum full tower days! Looking forward to your progress.

Think we have a winner! Thought I had all the exterior done but one piece needs a bit of sanding and another coat of the metallic silver.
7” display is on the way. Not much to do fir now

I kind of miss the days of doing case mods and such. I loved taking a stock case and tweaking it. But these days machines are just way to expensive to build for the fun of it. WAY back in the day I almost did a build with one of these. I was going to paint the ribs on the vent area the same color as the base, but leaving the black between them.

Looks like it should turn out pretty nice!

Mah... i can't recall a single case i had before i got my mountain mods which didn't require me to cut it up with a dremel.
Even a CM Stacker 805 i had to cut open with a dremel.

I really really hated painting the case tho.
Even one wrong wind blowing dust/debris , and it was GG... had to sand the area, and do it all over again, and something freshly spray painted is not something you wanted to keep indoors.

its been a pain in my backside with resanding and respraying because of those issues
But finally all panels and trim are done.

😎package arrived, time to start cutting
Did the cutting on chassis and front plastic panel, test fit of the display.
Test Fit is good with room to fine tune placement

The mirror silver or gold spreader increases bling factor by over 9000.

Is it that much different than what you're used to? I went from Intel to AMD last year. The last AMD box I built was 2012. That was for my late wife. Previously, the last AMD PC I built for myself was 2006 when I bought my first dual-core processor, the Athlon 64 X2.

So... what exactly are you using as a display? How is it connected to the rest of the machine?

Use it AIDA64 for temps and other system data. haven't had time to setup sensor panel yet. Here are some samples of sensor panels people created with AIDA64 Extreme
HDMI and USB connects monitor to computer.

Fixed all the RGB lighting. Other then designing a sensor panel for the 7” display
It’s all done.
One of the nicest I’ve built in many years.
